You wont need to return this If you do have acid reflux or GERD this is the best product you can use. Here is what happened with me, I was reluctant to get this product after reading lots of bad reviews. But I was running out of options so I wrote the seller an email from within Amazon. The response was really good. In fact they suggested a lots of other tips like chewing gum for few mins after meals to increase saliva to reduce the acid production. They were friendly and the only reason they said they cannot return this product was due to the fact that its for personal use and they cannot resell it. I am sure if the product turns out defective or torn they will replace it but I did not have to do that as it came in good condition.Fact: just after 2 days of use I started realizing the benefits of this product. Its amazing. Beware, you need to have a good pillow to accompany this, not included with product so that you do not sprain your neck. This will take a little getting used to as you are not used to sleeping in this position if you are new to sleeping upright. for me it was perfect as I used to use a stack of pillows before and this was just a scale up on comfort.The size is perfect, I got the one without the memory foam. This one folds so you can carry it but that's of no use to me as I don't take it with me. You don't have to sleep on it everyday, just when you know you are getting the symptoms. Trust me, you will know when it happens if you really have GERD. 5Relieves many health issues! Get a good nights sleep again! I got this for my husband who was having a lot of chest pain at night from Gerd and hernia issues and just recovered from esophageal cancer, and he also has a bad aortic valve and COPD. Yes he has a lot of issues to say the least. He was having to take nitro several times a night and was not getting a lot of sleep. I got him this pillow and it has done wonders for him, he is sleeping all night now and also was put on a time released nitro, but, the pillow has helped him tremendously with all his issues. I highly recommend it to anyone with any of these issues. 5MedSlant has great customer service. Very helpful product. The MedSlant that initially came had a defect, which never happens with MedSlant. I have been sleeping on MedSlant for 11 years for Complex Sleep Apneas (Central and Obstructive), Reflux, and a Hiatal hernia and was replacing my old one since after 11 years it had gotten too soft in the middle. I emailed MedSlant and Adele, head of MedSlant, called me immediately - on a Sunday, yet- and she is sending out a free replacement and told me to not bother returning the defective item - just toss it. She even offered to include the allergen barrier. Excellent customer service. You can't find better than that! And it is a great product. 5Bought for snoring I purchased this wedge pillow for snoring. I have tried about everything there is for this problem. I bought a wedge from Walmart as it was cheap and to give the wedge a try but it killed my back and was not something I could use. I am a few weeks away from having a sleep study and really do not want to wear a Cpap mask so I took a chance on this wedge. For me it has reduced my snoring. I know this because every night I record myself with a snore app that lets you know how bad you are! This wedge took me a few nights to get used to but it is very comfortable once you get accustomed to it. I find that putting small pillows behind wedge and against the headboard gives your pillow room to be up high on wedge so my hip are at the bottom portion of wedge. I do find that I sometimes fall off the side so I am going to purchase the bigger wedge soon. Will use this one for traveling. I believe this wedge will help anyone with breathing problems at night. I am very thankful to have found this as it does help with snoring but did not eliminate mine. I went from an hour or more of snoring to around 15 minutes. Hope this helps with anyone looking at this pillow for snoring. 5It works... I'm torn as to how to feel about this pillow, as you'll see below.The good:1. Well, it (as well as some diet change) has all but completely eliminated my reflux / GERD symptoms!2. It seems to be holding up better than I expected for simple foam. In fact, it really hasn't collapsed much at all.3. No smell. Based on another review, I'd expected a bad smell...but none to report.4. The fitted 'pillowcase' fits quite well.The bad:1. It kills my neck. I'm hoping the soreness will subside as I become acclimated to the pillow. So far, that's not happening. :(2. It limits my sleep positions.3. Being a wedge, sometimes I awaken to find I've slipped down and my feet overhand the mattress.4. I worry that it's affecting my posture, and making it more 'head down'.5. Realistically, the price really is too high.Overall:Since I've kept in on the bed ever since getting it, I guess I've answered my real question/dilemma: "Is it worth it?"The answer for me, at least for now, is "Yes". (Even if it is over-priced.)Now if my neck would just stop hurting... 3Works well even for a big guy I have acid reflux and sleep apnea. I use a cpap machine and have been using a 25" length pillow wedge for the last couple of years. I am also a 6 foot 270 pound man. I just got over a terrible virus with a bad dry cough. My doctor told me that it was made worse and I was more prone to get sick due to the acid reflux. It's good I saw him for I am on meds for the reflux and he said the acidic aspect was gone but it was still there in nonacidic form causing damage. Primary reason was not sleeping at the correct angle. As many of us have learned the shorter length wedge merely raises the head and constricts the stomach making the reflex and all the problems it causes much worse.Of course I was told to raise my bed if possible but it is not. He then recommended this pillow and it has helped tremendously. It took about 1 week to get used to sleeping on it and I must say that is a good thing. I was concerned that due to my size and weight that the pillow would easily loose its firmness and squish down in size but that has not been the case at all. You are supposed to sleep with the side with the wedges up and the pillow is very comfortable while helping you stay in place. It just took me time to get used to sleeping on such a slant. The previous smaller wedge was not effective for my body enveloped it and its firmness quickly gave away.I begin on my back but am basically a side sleeper. I find the pillow comfortable in either position. I do wake up sometimes more towards the middle of the pillow and need to raise myself up again. it is not due to the pillow not holding me but rather me tossing around. My nighttime cough is pretty much gone and I must say it feels great to be able to lay fully prone on the pillow. I can feel that the airways are more open and it ultimately makes falling asleep much easier. There are many rave reviews here but I wanted to chime in for it has been very effective with a man of my size. Many feel the pillow is overpriced but I don't believe the quality of the foam with the correct medically recommended slant would be the same with other lower priced wedges. Highly recommend. 5I don't have acid reflux I don't have any problems with acid reflux, so I can't evaluate the pillow on those terms. I bought it because someone told me it helped with her shoulder pain. I don't think it's really helped with my shoulder pain. Maybe a little bit? It is somewhat helpful when you have post-nasal drip during a cold.The material is high-quality, and I have not had any problems with a strong chemical smell or anything like that. I also haven't had any problems with sliding off of the pillow during the night (I always sleep with a regular pillow between my knees anyway, which apparently helps), but I have had some problems with waking up in the middle of the night because I didn't feel "balanced" enough like I felt I was going to fall from someplace high, which woke me up. Not too much of that though.The pillow comes with a pillowcase, but it should also come with one of those waterproof covers that goes underneath the pillowcase, because you can't exactly wash the pillow, even though you will probably drool/sweat through the case at some point. (Between acid reflux, post-nasal drip, drool, and sweat, this review is getting a little gross!) Also, don't be fooled by the crossed-out price. It always costs $84.95, both on Amazon and on the MedSlant website. 4So far, so good! It took a few nights to get used to it, but after adapting, I have to say I really like it. I have suffered from a chronic cough due to acid reflux and since sleeping on this pillow, my cough has lessened. I'm hoping with long-term use, it will disappear...but time will tell.I definitely recommend this pillow, but one word of advice is: you may have to trade in your normal pillow for something a little softer or flatter. I was using a medium firm pillow before using the slant and now that pillow raises my head up too high and I wake up with neck pain. So if you're considering purchasing this, keep that in mind. 4No Odor, Good Length, Better Sleep The Medslant pillow is longer than the wedges one can purchase off the rack. It has a wavy top and it feels firm enough for support yet soft enough for sleeping. I have been using cheaper wedges for many years and therefore I had no adjustment period to sleeping on this wedge. I use a small round pillow for neck support instead of a full pillow and thus far I have slept fairly well (for me) on this wedge. I am a side sleeper but have not been able to sleep in that position for years; I have noticed a few times, though, I have awakened to find myself on my side since I purchased this wedge pillow. This is not something I could do with shorter wedge pillows.This pillow comes in two sections. The lower section is held to the upper section via a cleverly designed zippered cover. I suggest getting the allergy cover instead of using the one that comes with the pillow. The pillow is a bit difficult to put back into the cover, particularly after washing, so I also purchased the pillow cover the company offers plus I wrap a sheet around my wedge so that I don't have to wash the zippered cover as frequently.The product was compressed upon delivery but it plumped out slightly after it was unwrapped. I am hoping it does not droop in the middle as that is the problem I have with other wedges. Time will tell.Additionally, this wedge has no odor and that was a great plus to me since I have allergies and environmental sensitivities. I use the wedge because I have had multiple ulcers, acid reflux, and some other weird issue with my stomach that keeps me from being able to rest on a flat surface.I did have an issue with my initial zippered cover and the company that makes this product offered excellent customer service and resolved my problem immediately.All in all a good product and if it holds up for more months than the cheaper wedges I shall purchase this again when the time comes. I will try to remember to return in a few months to note how well the MedSlant has held up. This product was initially suggested to me by a friend who has used one for some time. 5Good Idea But Not Comfortable Enough Update July 2019: I started using this wedge again during nights when my digestion wasn't good, but I bought a completely different pillow to put on top than I've used before. It's a pillow that cradles my head and supports my neck so that I'm forced to stay on my back more, and if I do end up on my side, my neck and cheek feel more supported in a softer way. Now, that painful kink in my shoulder blades that I mentioned below doesn't happen anymore. It's still not a very comfortable wedge pillow (not that I've tried any other types) because I still think it needs to be softer/more malleable.Original Review:I like that this foam is made of a more non-toxic material. That was important to me. I also like that I can fold the wedge in half to store or move it around.I've been sleeping with it for two weeks now, and the first couple of days I kept sliding down (which they advise you to solve by placing a pillow between or under your knees). After that, I stopped sliding down, but then my cheeck/jaw would hurt every morning when I woke up on my side. So then I kept switching the pillows I put on top of the wedge (even tried no pillow) to see if that would work. Slowly, I also began noticing a krick in my neck upon waking that steadily got worse. Now I wake up in the middle of the night with severe shoulder/neck pain and I've never had that before with regular pillows.Besides that, my night-time heartburn episodes have diminished, so that is a plus, but I don't think I can deal with this shoulder pain much longer. I think if the pillow were softer so that the shoulder could sink in more, then I wouldn't have this pain.Not sure what to do now, since I can't return it... 3
