1 week, my heel is bruised, and it hurts to walkI tried these since the Pinnacle Powerstep insoles don't last but 3 months for me. At first, the insole felt too narrow. I don't have wide feet and also didn't have to trim the insole itself, so I figured it would be a perfect fit. My foot slid around in my boot the first 2 days. I think I read some reviews about a break in period, so I still continued to wear them. The 3rd day, the balls of my feet were really sore. Again, I figured this was part of the break in woes. 4th and 5th days were more of the same, sore feet and my toes felt like they were right on the edge of the pad. My boots are lace up and I had already tried to reposition the insoles a few times, but it still felt the same every time. By the end of the 6th day, I couldn't take anymore. My feet hurt like hell and my left heel is bruised from the heel cup. I noticed slight pain in it around lunch time, and again chalked it up to the break in. I work construction and am on my feet all day. I have semi high arches and these insoles give great arch support, but sadly fail in all other areas. For the price, I will go back to the Powerstep, as it is cheaper, very comfortable from day 1, and will last me exactly 2 months and 3 weeks longer than these. I really wanted to like these, but I should've listened to the reviews.1Low Quality for a High PriceI purchased these for my snowboard boots to help alleviate foot pain that I was experiencing. They fit in the boots nicely, and the contour matched the arch of my foot much better than the flat insoles that came with the boots. They definitely don't hug your feet like a true custom footbed, but also don't cost $150-$200. I rode for 14 days total with these in my boots, and they helped reduce the foot pain I had been feeling, but not eliminate it completely. When I took my linings out at the end of the season for a wash, I noticed that the insoles had both broken at the same location, just forward of the heel on the inner side (see pictures). One was cracked, and the other had a piece completely broken off with sharp edges and corners (this could have stabbed my foot!). The plastic heel cups are pretty flimsy; I don't see how they could last in a pair of running or other athletic shoes. For $50, I did not expect these to wear out so quickly, especially in snowboarding boots. Consider saving up 2X-3X as much for some higher quality, truly custom footbeds. The difference in fit and quality is worth the money.2Almost like Baby JesusI m a serious runner and I ve had knee issues for about 9 months and no doctor could tell me what was wrong. And as it turns out, I just needed arch support. Ran the first time with them, wasn t a Baby Jesus miracle but it was definitely a VAST improvement. My knee no longer knocked inwards, I ran and squatted with aligned legs/ knees.5Would not walk anywhere without theseI used these when I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. I would not have been able to complete it if I didn't have these insoles, my plantar faciitus would have completely destroyed my feet. The arch support is great, but what I really needed was the heel cup these provide. Without that my heel felt squashed like a pancake and was incredibly painful especially with the additional 40lb pack on my back. The deep heel cup is designed to redirect the fat of your heel underneath your heel where you need it. I tried Dr. Sholl's gel type insoles and they simply turn to mush after a week of hiking. They didn't relieve my pain, and they provided absolutely no support at all. Only thing they did was give a little shock absorption.. until they turned into mush. These insoles are designed to provide support, not shock absorption. Gel inserts did not give arch or heel support I needed. When I came back from hiking, I thought I wouldn't need them anymore. I got a job that required me to walk around on concrete all day. My foot pain was agonizing. I thought that not having a 40lb pack on would be enough to rid me of my foot pain but I was wrong. The FIRST day I put these in my shoes (I got a new pair), I noticed a difference. After 3 days my foot pain was almost completely gone. If you have foot pain these are definitely worth a try. I don't know what I did before I found out about these insoles (or any good supportive insoles in general). I got the Orange mainly because it has the deepest heel cup and arch support available by Superfeet (at the time of this review anyway). The Green is similar but is harder, the Orange has foam in the toe box and while still very supportive is a bit softer than the Green. I tried another brand that required it to be heated before being inserted into the shoe. Those did not have the support or longevity as they did not have the plastic reinforcement in the heel and arch. I would not recommend that type of insole. If you get a shoe that has a nice shock absorbing sole, and these insoles for heel and arch support your feet will probably be a lot better off.5They're a necessity if you have high archesI usually get the green ones but these were cheaper and fortunately still fit. I wear them in my day to day walking shoes, boots, sneakers. I did like the extra cushion. Typically these insoles last me about a year before they wear out, I try to get as much mileage out of them as I can or skip years because they used to cost me only $20 and now they're about $35-$40.. These insoles are so good that I don't notice when the bottoms of the soles of my shoes wear out until I notice holes developing in my insoles and see a giant quarter sized hole in the heel of my shoe. The green/orange provides the highest arch support I can find. The arch does hit more towards your heel, I'm not sure if this is because men's arches are different, but I buy these because the women's superfeet are too narrow and the arch support doesn't seem as good. As a side note can we stop making women's products pink, purple and pastel? It's like everything is made for 6 year old girls, not grown women. Also tried the flexmax because they were cheaper but didn't like them as well, my feet still hurt when I wore them After about 4 months gave up on them and subbed these. This is basically a substitute since manufacturers have started to cheap out and don't provide proper arch support in their shoes, and they charge the same or more as before.4came usedI hope they'll work but I'm quite ticked as I paid for NEW and got slightly used. The writing on the sole was worn slightly and there were toe discolorations. I assume someone tried, didn't like, returned, and they threw them back in the mix. I didn't pay for a slightly used product, I paid for new and at $60 that's what I expected. I'm keeping to try as I have severe foot issues and am desperate for a solution. I have custom orthotics but they are not working/helping in my backpacking boots (no real cushioning for the forefoot) and I'm hoping these will.1A very good insole for higher archesAn ex-football player past his prime (6'3", 360 lbs, size 13D, medium arch), I was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. My orthopedist recommended daily stretching exercises and Orthoheel slippers to wear indoors (no more walking around in socks). What a difference! The slippers and exercises lessened my symptoms from the start and, over time, eliminated most of my discomfort, so I decided to find some orthotic inserts to improve my street shoes. So far, I've tested:1. Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Extra Support2. Aetrex Copper Medium Arch3. Spenco Polysorb Total Support4. Superfeet Copper DMP5. Powerstep Pinnacle6. Powerstep Pinnacle Proeach for two hours' total walking time over a few days in two pairs of my favorite shoes: New Balance 606 hikers and Cole Haan loafers with Nike Air.Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Extra Support: Advertised for big & tall men, they didn't do much for me. While the extra cushioning helped at first, it helped less and less the longer I walked on them. I mentioned this to my orthopod and he told me the key to managing PF is not cushioning, it's support. Grade: DSpenco Polysorb Total Support: Remembering my doc's advice, I chose these for the rigid heel cup and arch support. Though quite comfortable overall, the arch support was a bit too low for my medium-high arches and the heel cup was insufficient support for weight. While they worked reasonably well for me, I believe they would a be better choice for lighter individuals with lower arches. Grade: BAetrex Copper Medium Arch: Promising better arch support, these felt very similar to the Spenco insoles even after walking around the block. I then swapped one of the Aetrex insoles for one of the Spenco insoles and walked around again. Only then could I tell them apart. The Spenco offered a little better support for the mid- and fore-parts of my foot, the Aetrex offered a little better support for my arch. Grade: BSuperfeet: I was in an Allen Edmonds store and noticed the Superfeet insoles. The clerk said many men my size have good success with them. I first tried the Orange insoles. While they were too high for my arches, I felt more support in the right places than I had with any other insoles I had tried. I next tried the Copper DMP insoles. These were the right fit for my arches. Superfeet are easily the most rigid of the insoles I've tried...and easily the best. The arch support sits farther back on the insole than other brands. This made a real difference in the support and comfort I felt walking long distances. I also found the medial post support in the heel did a better job than other insoles in combatting over-pronation. Grade: A [Update: I have since tried Superfeet Black in dress shoes that couldn't accommodate the Copper insole. They work well but are not as supportive as the Copper or the Orange.]Powerstep Pinnacle: While it seems well-made and offered good support, it simply did not work for me. The gel-based arch support sits too far forward and in the middle of the insole. The insoles felt like I had lumps of clay underfoot. After a few blocks of brisk walking, my feet began to fatigue as if I were walking barefoot in sand. Again, these may work for some people but they didn't for me. Grade: CPowerstep Pinnacle Pro: Other wearers commented that the Pinnacle Pro differs markedly from the Pinnacle, so I tried a pair. I barely made it a block before heading back home. Though more rigid than the Pinnacle and with a better heel cup, the Pinnacle Pro was too inflexible through the arch and ball of my foot. These were the only insoles I tried that truly caused me pain. Of course, it could just be the contours of my feet, and for others the Pinnacle Pro might be great. Grade: F4I wanted to like these but...I really wanted to like these but I'm going to have to throw them away. I'm 5 10 180lbs. The material is quality but it is the back heal part that killed my foot. Regular shoes insoles are flat, but the heel on these curve right below the inside of the ankle and squish the capillaries to the point to when I took my shoes off after 5hrs of wear my veins in my ankle were showing and the inside bottom of the foot was swollen. It essentially looked like it displaced the bottom of my foot in a worse off position. It took about 2 days for things to return back to normal. I wanted these to give support and cushion and to not mind standing for long periods, feel good on my feet. This did the opposite. Pretty disappointed. The search continues.1Hooray for Superfeet! Hooray for Amazon! I like the orange ones the best!I love my orange Superfeet! Again, Amazon is the best price compared to my local sporting goods store where I bought my original pair. I've been a fan of Superfeet and I've tried the green, pink and now the orange. I have found that they extend the life of my running shoes and give excellent support and comfort to my feet. My job involves standing for 8-9 hours at a time. There are no chairs or stools anywhere. If you have plantar fasciitis, these are very helpful. I've suffered from pf many times over the years. I'm hoping that using these orthotics will help me avoid another painful attack. Hooray for Superfeet! Hooray for Amazon!5Great product. Walk 10 to 15 miles a day. Wore out my first set after 1 year, so purchased another.I got my first set of these orange superfeet a year ago. First it takes about a week to adjust to them, because the damage is already done to your feet. The first set held up 13 months with 10 to 15 miles of walking a day. Being heavier in weight I tend to go through inserts faster, but these held up better than other brands I have tried that only last a few weeks, or the feet never adjusted to the other brands. This is a fanastic product and It well worth the money for me.5
