Im obsessed! This is literally the holy grail of cups!!! I switched to the Super Jennie from the meluna sport which I had been using for about 7 months. The meluna leaked constantly and had to be changed every few hours despite being no where near full. It frustrated me to no end. I tried everything to make it work, but it really wasn't the cup for me. I purchased the Super Jennie on the suggestion of my cousin and boy was it worth it! I'm 26 and never had any children, but I purchased a large for the higher capacity. I've gone from having to change my cup every few hours, to being able to last the whole day with absolutely no leaks! The super jennie is a lot softer then the meluna, but it opens a lot easier which shouldn't make sense, but it does! It's very comfortable and I completely forget I'm even wearing it. I think it forms to my body better then the meluna did which is why I don't experience leaks anymore. I'm so thrilled that I finally found a cup that works perfectly for me. I really cannot say enough good things about it and would highly recommend anyone who is o the fence about purchasing it to give it a shot! 5Super Jennie has changed my life!Super Jennie has changed my life! Since getting my cycle back for the first time in 5 years (I've been pregnant back to back 3 times) I decided I didn't want to use chemical laden tampons anymore. I tried various brands of organic tampons but they were just terrible. They leaked all the time and had no absorbency for a heavy period. I decided to try the cup. I took the put a cup in it quiz and it told me to get a Lena size 2. After trying and failing to get that to work for 3 cycles, I finally switched to super Jennie. Apparently some lucky women only have something like 2-4 tbsp of flow during an average period. I figured out that I have about 6-7oz. The super Jennie can definitely handle that high volume and fits well without slipping down (after 3 babies my pelvic floor just isn't as strong). Running errands with toddlers makes its really hard to stop and use the restroom often, and with the Super Jennie I was really able to just set it and forget it. I can go 4-5 hours on a really heavy day, and 8-10 hours on a normal flow day. I also noticed my cramps were much more mild. I was really ready to throw in the town with this whole cup thing but this brand really made a huge difference. So happy! 5Can a cup actually be magical?Okay, my period is due any day now, so the SECOND my cup was dropped into my mailbox, I rushed out to grab it, wash it, and try it on.I'll be honest. I like a firm cup. When I say firm, I mean FIRM! This cup isn't even close to what I would consider to be firm, or even what I would consider to be medium softness. It is soft like a Jello jiggler! That worried me. I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to get it open, and even if I did, I would have to spend a lot of time coaxing it open. Nope! I was able to use the punch-down fold, and get the cup open and in position in 60 seconds or less! You don't know how much this means to me. My biggest problem with any cup, is being able to get it open quickly and easily. I thought it was maybe a fluke, so I pulled it out, rinsed it off, and tried again. Easy as the first try. This cup also holds a LOT. I'm not worried about capacity or leaks as I'm pretty experienced with using a cup, and can troubleshoot those problems, should they arise. So, this little gem will be great for my heaviest flow days!On to the stem. I actually couldn't feel it. This was a surprise to me because I ALWAYS feel the stem, at least at first. Not on this cup! Again, I thought it was too good to be true, so I stood up and wriggled around. I sat down as fast as I could on the hardest surface I could find. I did toe-touches. I bounced around on my bed like a kid at bedtime. I twerked. I scrunched myself into a ball. I did lunges. I did everything I could think of to try to make the cup shift uncomfortably, or make the stem feel awkward. Nothing worked! The cup stayed completely in place! So, I tried the ultimate test. I had a bowel movement. If you can do that whilst wearing a cup, without having to reposition it, you know you've got a good thing! In short, I do not understand how they could make a cup so small that can hold so much, a cup that is so soft, yet can open so easily and not slip, and how they can keep the price so low, while making it attractive, with everything from the holes to the seams being nicely finished. I suspect there might be some sorcery involved. Either way, thank you Super Jennie for coming to the rescue! Five stars all around! 5Menstrual Cup Veteran ApprovedOrdered the large since I've had a kid even though that was 5 years ago. Best decision ever.. During my military years I used a Diva cup pad for patrols and traffic stops since sometimes it could be a 12+ hr day and changing pads/tampons in the field just doesn't make any sense and was incredibly uncomfortable. But for the 2nd day I would always have to double with a pad because it was just too heavy of a flow with the Diva cup. Then I found out there were larger menstrual cups and tried out the Super Jennie, but I was a little worried that it would be too big and uncomfortable/painful. It is a little firmer so that was something to get used to for insertion. The pull part of it has a ball that I am so, SO grateful for. The one thing about the Diva that I hated was that something I would accidentally pinch myself because I couldn't always get a good grip on the end, but with the pull ball on the Super Jennie, it gives a definite, solid thing to grasp. 5Solved all my period problemsI cannot say enough great things about this. I have the copper iud and was bleeding though a super plus in 45 minutes. Then switched to a diva cup and same thing. I ordered the large because I've had a child and bleed a lot. Also in the diva cup I had an uncomfortable feeling from the harder plastic (some people have this problem.) The super Jennie solved all my problems. I'm able to go all night without dumping it and don't have to worry about changing it every hour. I couldn't recommend a better cup! If you're having problems with bleeding through or pressure on your bladder this is a great cup to try! Sounds cliche but I actually don't dread my period anymore! 54 stars for product...plus 1 for excellent customer serviceNot sure if it's fitting or funny that my first review ever is for a menstrual cup but here goes. After a long search for the perfect cup, I landed on the Super Jennie. After an initial learning curve and landing on the right fold (in my case C-fold) I came to wonder why I waited so long to try them out. Perhaps due to my strong belief that cups belong in cabinets and on coffee tables not well you know....One down fall was that after a few months the tiny ball on the end snapped off (that would drop it to 4 stars but honestly their customer service kicks them back up to 5 in my case, thanks Jessica). I reached out to the company to inform them and they immediately offered to send a replacement which was thoroughly appreciated. I was willing to pay for another and ended up buying one to gift a friend. The capacity of the SJ and and the ease with which it can be inserted makes it a win for me. Unfortunately I just had the little ball snap off again (maybe I don't know my own strength?). It's still functional but it really helps to have that extra nodule for the reach to adjust after insertion so likely will end up buying another. Golden nugget for those struggling with removal: use nitrile gloves. I searched high and low for tips online and they didn't really help. I decided to try gloves to see if would help with the grip and it made the world of difference. Hopefully that helps someone out there as much as it has helped me. If you're debating on the SJ, give it a whirl. The monetary investment is well worth it. Good luck on your search! 5Don't Believe the HypeThis is a menstrual cup review, so there is talk about lady parts, etc.First, I am not a newbie to menstrual cups. I am 39 and had two vaginal births, to an 8 pounder and a 9 pounder, so I ordered the Large. In all respects, I have a normal vagina and regular periods with heavy flows on days 3 and 4 with an average of a 7 day flow. I have used the SJ cup for two cycles now. On my second cycle, I leaked like crazy on day 3. Thank goodness I'm a side sleeper, otherwise my bed would have looked like a crime scene (it was inserted properly, to my knowledge).I generally don't post negative reviews (unless something is just too terrible to let slide). Rather than post a review, initially, I reached out to the company in response to two (auto)messages they sent directly to me wanting to know how I liked the cup. I provided them, in summary, the following feedback: cup is way too thick, painful and difficult to insert, painful once inserted, stem painfully stabs the lady bits, cup shifts around a lot and practically slides out.So, this cup hurts like crazy and I had to keep adjusting it throughout the day so it wouldn't pop out. The company messaged me asking me for my order number and the size I purchased. I responded with the requested info, thinking they were going to be proactive in addressing matters - not to hear from anyone again.... Until I received another auto-message asking me how I liked the cup. Doh! Of course, I responded that I am loooking for another cup, already gave them my feedback, and that they need to work on the follow-up/cutomer service. I received another message stating that they are working to improve customer service and good luck to me in my quest for a different cup. Gee, thanks SJ staff. Way to stand behind your product...Dear SJ: Please do not state: "Whether your Super Jennie does not meet your expectations, or you have any feedback for improvement, or if you think you may have purchased the wrong size, please let us know by responding to this e-mail directly. Our goal is to acheive 100% customer satisfaction, and we are happy to help in any way we can." on your messages to customers. Clearly, I am not 100% satisfied. I am 0% satisfied. And you did not help in any way you could. You did not help at all. So, kinda embarassing for you. You should do something about it, or take this little gem off your auto-messages.Thanks.Your friend,Steph 1Very big, which is mostly a plus; but difficult to removeI've used menstrual cups for many years (I think about 15); and this is my 4th brand. Previously I've used the Keeper, the MoonCup, and the Diva Cup -- all of which were so similar that I'm hard-pressed to identify any significant differences between them other than color. The Super Jennie, however, is noticeably different.First, the good:- It's significantly bigger than any cup I've used before. In fact, I think it was the the largest capacity cup I could find when researching. As a result, I don't worry AT ALL about leaks, and I don't even have to change it more than once a day. (YMMV of course.) This is by far the best thing about it; and if you have a heavy flow, you're going to really notice the difference.- The material it's made out of is much MUCH less stiff than the others I've tried, so it's easier to fold. This might make it easier to insert for beginners. (It's sometimes a little slow to unfold once inside though; so maybe not.)- The blue is a really pretty color. Of course no one is going to SEE it, so that doesn't matter, but still...it's almost cute. Most cups aren't.Here's what I didn't like:- Because it's so big, it's slightly painful to remove -- although this has gotten better after several months of use. The pain isn't severe or anything, and it only lasts for a second; but I've never had any discomfort with any other cup.- Pain/discomfort aside, it's a lot HARDER to remove. This goes back to its flexibility...it's basically a bit stretchy too, so when you pull on the (extremely small) ball on the end, which is supposed to serve a little bit like a handle, the tail end just stretches, and the cup itself stays deeply embedded where it's difficult to reach. Therefore you have to, um, "dig deeper" I guess is the way to put it, to even get the cup into a position where it can be pulled out. I am not squeamish in the slightest; but still, this is not fun. It's messy on a level that I haven't experienced since my early "learning curve" days of using a cup -- and in this case, it's not getting easier with practice.- The blue will stain slightly with use. This is not a big deal; most cups do. But the discoloration makes it less cute over time, if you care at all about that.I will continue to use this for awhile because I don't want to replace it prematurely; but I won't be buying another Super Jennie in the future. I would only recommend it to someone whose main concern is having a large capacity cup for super heavy periods. In that situation, it's certainly worth a try.UPDATES:1. The bead "handle" broke off after ~15 months of use; so it's now even harder to remove. Last straw for me; Super Jennie got tossed.2. Thanks to the commenter who suggested a soak in hydrogen peroxide. That did complete remove the staining. (It was not a huge concern of mine and didn't account for any docked stars, but it was nice to have the staining gone.) 3I. Love. This. Thing.I am three cycles in with my SuperJennie, so I feel like now that it has definitely paid for itself in tampon/pad costs I feel like I'm qualified to write a review. For context, I'm 36 years old, never had children, and do not take hormonal birth control.I chose the SuperJennie after taking an online quiz about my cycle, flow, cervix, age, and a number of other factors. The main factor in my decision is that I have a very heavy flow, especially in the first couple days. I would recommend that anyone considering a menstrual cup take a similar quiz and make sure the cup you're buying meets your unique needs. For me, this was key to having a good experience from the get-go.To get them out of the way, here are the negatives:- I fold it up to insert, and sometimes it doesn't open right away. You have to kind of twirl it around by the base, or just move around a bit until you feel it open (a funny feeling, but not painful)- On very heavy days when it starts to get quite full, it will kind of sink down lower and sometimes completely inhibit my ability to urinate, even if I have a strong urge to do so. Now that's a strange sensation. Anyway, this generally means it needs to be taken out and emptied, anyway, so then I can pee and everything is fine. This does require me to be careful not to get into public bathroom only situations during this time, but there's usually only one day out of the month that it's a major concern.- Pulling it out by the stem does not always work very well, so you need to get used to grasping the cup itself from the base and pulling it out that way. Once you're accustomed to that it's not a big deal.- Overall, it's just very important to realize that there's a learning curve, and not everything is going to go perfectly the first few months. There are a lot of resources online that can help you with any stumbling blocks -- someone has been wherever you are. And the payoff once you get things straightened out is SO WORTH IT. Which bring us to...Things I love about my SuperJennie:- As I mentioned earlier, it's a huge money-saver. After the initial investment paid for itself, I'm now going to be saving $100+ a year on tampons and pads.- On that note, it's also nice to know that in this one way I'm no longer contributing to landfills.- Not having to figure out what the h I'm going to do when I leave the house and forget to pack pads or tampons (at least once a month this would happen) has been a dream.- When inserted properly, you cannot feel it at all. No joke, it's as if there is nothing there at all.- With a few exceptions on my very heavy days, it doesn't leak at all. During that heavier time, I will also use cloth pads as back-up, especially overnight.- The general soreness and discomfort that I felt in my ~area~ from tampons and pads is entirely gone.- On that note, my cramping has been reduced considerably. I've suffered from very painful cramps my entire life during the first 1-2 days of my period, and that discomfort has been reduced by half, or more, these last few months with the cup. This is one of the best things I can say about it, because it's a relief I never thought I would have until menopause.- The first day or so, I might have to empty it once or twice mid-day, but for the vast majority of my 5+ day period I am emptying it in the morning when I wake up, and again before bed. That's it. The convenience factor here is off the charts.Overall, I just feel like this is one of the best changes I've ever made. Literally. And I've made a lot of shifts in my life, many of them good. I cannot recommend taking the leap on a cup highly enough. I wish I'd have done it years ago. 5Awesome cup! Best I ve tried! For starters I am a 28 year old, no children, no pregnancies, Paraguard IUD for birth control, tilted uterus, and with a high cervix during my cycle. I have tried the DivaCup and Lena Cup before trying the SuperJennie size large. I didn t realize until I tried this cup that my main reason for leaks with the other two was that they were entirely too small in size and in capacity. I was just placing the cup around my cervix instead of letting the cup itself create a seal against the vaginal walls. I still do have very small amounts of leaks on my three heavy days (which are very heavy due to the paraguard IUD) but I think this is mainly just the small amount that escapes when emptying the cup. With the Lena and Diva I was changing my cup every two hours on my heavy days and having considerable leaking (I wear menstual underwear for back up) but that time frame has been extended to every 3.5-4 hours with the SuperJennie. I haven t had any issues with getting the cup out as other reviewers with a high cervix have found, nor have I had issues with firmness and getting the cup to open up. I do occasionally have urinary urgency if my bladder is very full and I have my cup in. Overall, this is definitely my favorite that I have used so far! Don t be afraid to try a bigger cup if you have a heavy flow and lots of leaks! My one gripe is not about the cup itself but the shipping from Amazon. They shipped it in a soft sided envelope and the box was crushed when I received it. The cup was undamaged as it is pretty sturdy, but it was a little irritating to get it in the mail and have it beaten up. 5
