NOT Adjustable!Do not buy if you have larger calves. It will NOT fit. It is very difficult to get on and none of the straps are adjustable. The two bottom straps for the arch and the ankle were way too big for my foot and the upper strap was far too small to fit my calf. Totally worthless to me. 1My doctor recommended this brace to wear at night or when resting ...Ruptured a tendon and had to wear a walking boot for six weeks, the boot was difficult to sleep in. My doctor recommended this brace to wear at night or when resting around the house. This brace sure made the six weeks easier to endure as it's lightweight and does not make my foot as hot as the boot. Rarely I would get up and walk in the boot from room to room to get something it took a little bit to get used to doing that. However the boot was stable and wore well it is definitely not meant for walking in but if you need to get up while wearing it it's strong enough to withstand a little bit of walking. 5Highly recommend split to help with plantar fasciitis painThis splint literally changed my life. I went from hobbling to walk due to plantar fasciitis pain to almost no pain. You have give it a few nights being that you aren't used to wearing something like this to bed. It isn't going to automatically feel normal or comfortable. You have to be patient. I began walking so much better with very little pain once I began wearing the splint. I will say that after a consecutive month of wearing it, one of the latches popped off, which was frustrating, butI returned it to amazon with no problem with a refund and just ordered another one. Even with the hassle of the return, I still would rate this splint a 5 simply due to the fact that I can walk virtually pain free most of the day now and haven't for years. Well worth a try if you are having plantar fasciitis pain. 5Highly recommendedPackaging was appropriate for boot. Came as ordered with no issues. This boot is considerably cheaper than others but you wouldn t know by the quality. Very well made and comfortable. By comfortable I mean no pain or chafing when worn properly. It took a few nights to get used to sleeping with it on. Big bulky boot underneath the cover was a small price compared to the wonderful feeling of having no pain upon standing. My only complaint is that I bought just one and have to alternate feet. My planter fasciitis was significantly better after just one night. Highly recommended for anyone suffering... waiting on my second boot to arrive. 5Grateful to walk again.I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for almost a year. The Dr. gave me a choice of morning and evening stretches with ice packing after the stretches, surgery to thin the ligament or try a night restraint. He pushed for me to start with the exercises and ice and said he was sure that would be enough. Along with that he gave me a cortisone shot. I did exactly what he said. The pain had become so severe that even house work was almost too much for me. My ankles, knees and hips were now involved because I was compensating while I walked. Always reaching out to grab something for support when I stand up made me feel like and old lady. My mom said I could borrow her cane. All our favorite activities requires me to use my feet. Even shopping for food was almost too much. I went back to the Dr. He said he was sure more shots would do the trick. I am afraid of the side effects of cortisone and refused. The Dr. told me to go to Amazon and buy a night splint. This night split was the last resort before surgery. The first night I put it on tight. Two hours later I was in too much pain. The top of my foot was swollen. I waited a week and tried it again. This time I put it on so my foot could slide from side to side a bit. My thought was that I only needed to keep my ankle at a 90 degree angle but still let my foot move in the splint. I woke up the next morning with very little pain in the heel. I have worn it now for three nights and each morning my foot feels better than the day before. It isn't too bad when sleeping. Last night I didn't even wake up. It has been months since I slept so well. The picture didn't show this well but there is a wedge that comes with it. You place it under the toe area to increase the stretch. Velcro holds it in place. I didn't use it. What a joy to stand and not have to grit my teeth as I try to endure the heel pain. Even if I have to wear one for the rest of my life it will be worth it.It is now Feb 27,2017. I am still so excited about this! Last week I spent the day with a grandson (4) and was able to run with him. I realized there was a bit of pull on my arch but that was all. My strides are normal except when I sit for a long time. The swelling that I have had is almost gone. Nothing else has helped but this splint. Thank you who ever came up with this idea!!!!Okay, its Jan 9, 2018. I have not been using the boot for 3 months. I am pain free. My sister was complaining about her plantar fasciitis. She had gone to two doctors. They both said there is nothing but surgery to solve the pain. I told her about this boot and offered to let her use mine for a month only. She has used if for 3 weeks and said this is the only thing that has helped her. She just called today and asked where to buy it?I have looked back at the negative reviews and noticed many complaining that it hurt to wear. In my first review I stated that I put it on too tight the first night. The next time I put it on I left the straps on the top of the foot and ankle loose enough so it could slide to side and raise up from the boot a bit. NO it doesn't keep the foot in a perfect 90 degree angle but the foot doesn't point while you are sleeping and this makes a huge difference to the ligament making it stretch gently all through the night.I have not gotten any pay or free boot for my review. I just want others to be given a chance to feel normal again. 5Workes for meI absolutely love this splint. The quality is on point .My doctor as recommended this for me to use over night. I was afraid it would bother me and keep me from getting a good nights rest. It took me about three days to get used to this splint.I would recommend to put the pant leg over the splint. It will keep it from warming up or having a crease mark on your leg .I ve been using this going on three weeks now.The second recommmendation would be to use only a few hours to begin with or for as long as you can tolerate it. 5MIRACLE BEST INVESTMENT IVE MADE!I recieved this yesterday and i slept with it half of the night( not going to like ur foot does goes numb) its like a straight jacket for your foor but it is a miracle i have plantar fasciitis and a high arch i use to wake up and have to wake on my toes thats how bad the pain is but after wearing this half the night my pain is little to none i am amazed another thing that i have been doing in freezing a water bottle and placing a towel on the floor and rolling the water bottle under my foot the is the best investment ive ever made! I wear a size 8 81/2 in women however i am plussie therefore my calfs are on the bigger side so that being said if you are a slim female i say go with a small 5High-quality planter fasciitis splintI'm a physician and did sports medicine as part of my practice. This splint is high enough quality for my own personal use. It is kind of tough to adjust the straps, because the Velcro is thick and stiff. But I manage to get it adjusted properly.I think it probably should come with some written instructions given guidance on adjusting the straps for the nonphysician types ordering us.I would recommend everyone see their physician, as there are other Serious medical conditions that can mimic plantar fasciitis. And there are other ways to treat it. A splint like this can be part of the treatment plan .In other words, I know what I'm doing. Get guidance from someone else that does. Your doctor . 5Works Great! My plantar fasciitis pain resides all in my heel. It was so bad I could only stand on the front of my foot first thing in the morning. Then I'd slowly put weight on my heel. I used the nighttime brace that had the plastic on the top of the leg. It worked to the point I was able to stand on it first thing in the morning, but I was still left with pain in my heel that didn't seem improved. The problem with that style of brace is this particular brace only has two straps (there are others like this that have more straps), one which wraps around the front of the foot and pulls the foot up to the plastic, which makes it hard to get it tight enough to stretch the muscle, and one that wraps around the part of the calf that starts to narrow down to the ankle, which caused the brace to slide down almost off the front of my foot. Maybe if it had straps around the ankle the results would've been better.I discovered this type of brace when I was pricing the other style on Amazon. When I discovered how it worked, I realized the other style wasn't right for my needs and I bought this one. I only used it one night during sleep for a few hours and what difference it made! I was concerned taking it off after a few hours and not wearing it until I got up in the morning was going to be a problem but it wasn't. Tomorrow will be the true test since it's Monday and a work day, so I'll be on my feet a little more.I didn't adjust the vertical straps on the sides or the wedge. I adjusted the straps that hold the brace on the foot and leg so it was snug. (I now understand others who commented about tingling because it's easy to make the straps too tight.) Since this brace is interchangeable between feet, a huge improvement in the design would be to make the straps that hold the brace on the leg with snaps. Since I use this on my right foot, the buckles are on the outside and it's very hard to buckle the straps. If they are held on with snaps I could flip the male and female sides so the buckles are on the inside of my leg making it much easier to buckle them, which is why I have it four stars.5/29/17 update: After a couple nights I adjusted the vertical straps about a half inch to get a little more stretch. I used it like that for the next few nights, just a few hours each night. By Friday, my foot was feeling fantastic so I tried going without over the holiday weekend. I'm happy to say it hasn't recurred...yet. I have a great brace if it comes back. 4This is a lifesaver for nighttime (calf) leg cramps.I experience painful nighttime cramps on my right calf. Due to the removal of a portion of my calf, my foot flexes into a pointing position which cause the cramps. I purchased this "boot" in an effort to keep my foot from flexing into a pointing position while sleeping at night. Best purchase I could have made! It was well worth the price!I will admit the first few nights it was a hassle and took some getting use to. I'd wake up after a couple of hours and take it off. I've gotten to a point where I can wear it throughout the night and I haven't had a nighttime cramp since I started using the boot. There are 3 straps that go over the foot, ankle and calf, that snap in. the straps themselves have velcro so that you can tighten for your comfort. I don't like the feel of the foam like material (blue part showing in pic) on my bare foot as it makes my foot feel hot. So I wear an ankle sock and it makes a difference.I cannot speak as to how it works for the Plantar Fasciitis but this definitely has helped for nighttime leg cramps. The boot (splint) looks like it could be used for either leg. So glad I thought to try this as a solution. 5
