Updated: All is now good.Has been off by 15 lbs, when compared to scale that I know is accurate, since I bought it. I have removed and replaced the batteries and recalibrated it countless times and get the same thing. I just add 15lbs to whatever it reads and I'm in the ballpark, but that's not good enough. Today I bought a cheaper lookalike at Walgreens for 10 dollars and gained my 15 pounds back.UPDATED: Heard from a representative from Ozeri about this unit. A replacement was sent, received, and is works as expected. Thank you, Ozeri, for reaching out and making things right! 4Great Product Worth BuyingThe instructions were only two sheets of paper: one for the tape measure, and the other for the caliper.Ozeri ScaleNo instructions came with the scale, so I had to figure out where to add batteries - fairly simple on the back of the scale. The battery packaging was tough to open. Normally, I can use my fingernail, but these were wrapped in rugged plastic and needed a knife.I couldn't find any instructions for tare weight to make sure it was at zero before I weighed. However, it's very simple and easy to use, step on the scale and wait for the numbers to quit flashing and give me the number. It's much like the Etekcity scale which has a tare feature.Tape MeasureThe tape measure is really nice. The instruction sheet is simple and understandable, but the instructions need to say you need to press the center button once to make sure it is snug after affixing "the plastic knob at the end of the vinyl tape into the hole of the main housing."I had one from another source that described this step. I love it for measuring my body for clothing size, as I get more accurate results than trying to pinch a regular tape at the right place.Ozeri CaliperI had the biggest challenge with the body fat caliper. First, the instructions refer to figures 1 - 5, but there were no figures included with the paperwork. I had to read the instructions several times to thoroughly understand what it was asking me to do.Then I have the issue that I can't reach one side with both hands (one to pinch the suprailiac skinfold, and the other to use the caliper), so someone else has to help me with it. This might be easy for someone who is slender or has long arms, but it seems like it wouldn't work well for an obese person.I tried it on friends but I couldn't get even a pinch to measure in the suprailiac area. It is not easy to use. If there are other areas they might possibly measure other than the suprailiac crest, it might be extremely handy to suggest them.Other calipers suggest areas such as abdominal, arm and thigh. The charts also were not clear as I first mistook the top one for women when it was for men. It also took a while to figure out the left column was age. It would help if the labels and title were included in the lined chart as a header, to limit confusion. 5This scale here was the best bet. It was exactly what I neededI'm a heavy set guy so I needed a scale that could bare my weight. This scale here was the best bet. It was exactly what I needed. I am above 400lbs so I can vouch that it does work for heavier people. It is battery operated, (Batteries Included) and the LCD screen lights up when you step on it. It is elegant and stylish and looks great. It can confirm that it is sturdy, By stepping on it lol. The glass is strong to support me and doesn't feel weak. The only thing I don't like about it is the number it displays when I step on it lol But that's a work in progress. All in all it is a great buy. 4Needs to have a larger platform.Nice scale and pretty accurate but the platform should be larger since it weighs up to 560 lbs. 3really accurate readingsAccurate readings are a must for me. My old scale was off then worked then was accurate i had alot of troubles with my old scale. I finally upgraded to this lovely scale and its fa nominal. It comes with a tape measure to measure your self. I like how the batteries were included. The tempered glass is very nice i like how it turns on when you step on it. The button to switch units is on the bottom very easy to find. Over all im very happy. 5Broken already!I have owned this scale for just over two months and it's decided to stop working. I've had weight loss surgery so I'm consistently going down. I was <400 lbs when I first got the scale. I stepped on the scale two days ago and it shows me gaining something like 50 lbs! Get off and back on, 35 lb gain. Off and back, "EEEE". Showed the Es for a few more times and now doesn't come on at all. Put new batteries in just for good measure, too. Of course, it's past the 30 return window so I wrote the manufacturer. I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm also certainly not going to buy another one of these. You should skip this one too. 1Inconsistent and horrible. Read outs don t holdI hate this product. It can take 5 or more time to get an accurate reading. The numbers don t stop so if you try to see how much you weight while on it, the numbers keep changing. You can t get off and read it because it doesn t hold the weight. It will just go back to zero. You literally need a second person to read the scale bc any movement while on it will change the readout. Horrible product, horrible service by the company who won t do anything for you. Save your money and get something better. You ll have to anyway after you waste your money on this 1Measure your stance first before buying a scale.The platform is not wide enough for heavy set people. I have thick thighs and have a wide stance for my feet. So I can't stay on the scale to get an accurate reading for my diet. The numbers keep searching for a weight. So, I cant get a good accuracy reading. It's not comfortable at all standing there with bad back, knees and feet. Need to Return this scale for one that reads aloud the weight as well. Can't move at all on this one to look down at the numbers and if you do then the numbers just keep rotating the weight. If you have a wide stance "DO NOT" PURCHASE THIS SCALE!!!! It's a good scale for people with a 12" stance and very sturdy. But for people with a wide stance no good! I just read 560lbs maximum weight and figured wow this one should work just great! Make sure to read, way down at the bottom of the page, at the Demensions for the scale. Make sure to look at the width stance.Get a measuring tape that locks and measure your comfortable stance before buying any scale.I have a 21" stance that's comfortable for me to stand with my handicaps. 4It's good for the priceFor the price, I'm not going to complain. I do enjoy the extras it came with. I received a BMI fat measuring tool and a tape measure to see my waist size in inches. The scale I'm unsure of its accuracy as I tested it with my older and wider weight watchers scale. Dripping wet, the weight on either scale is different by almost 4lbs. My older scale I was having trouble keeping the weight stable and it wouldn't "capture" and read back what I weighes, but new scale captures weight and is not always consistant. I do like it though.To those who state they can't read the weight, stand straight up for about 10-15 seconds and just wait. Then look down, the #s will be frozen until you step off. You cannot just step on and off assuming it captured you weight jn a second. Give it time, be patient and you will be able to read what it says. It doesn't stay on long to read, but long enough you can see what you weigh just before it goes off. My only issue is not knowing if its 100% on point, or if my other scale is off seeing as how my floors are a little uneven in my apartment. I tried using them in the same spot, however, as I said my older scale is wider and the balance may be different from the center. But, it gives me an accurate enough picture of what I think I should be so I know what to expect when I get to a doctor's weigh in. 5Great Scale for A Very Great PriceThis scale has a sleek design and accurate measurements.
