Had more SI (sacroiliac) Joint pain when using the seat/back combination that without it.I can only rate the Obus Forme Orthopedic Low Back cushion for its short term performance in the purpose for which I purchased it after several recommendations. I bought this product to relieve stress on my SI (sacroiliac) joint in which I have developed sacroilitis or the inflammation of the SI joint, and the low-back pain associated with it. I found several recommendations across the Internet stating that this product and the associated Ergonomic Seat could help. I received the seat and the back one day and tried them out in my computer chair at home and was very uncomfortable. The next day I tried them together in my car seat and in addition to the seat adjustments I had to make for the extra height and thickness, I was in more pain after my drive to work WITH the cushions, than without them. I returned them both the very next day, and bought a 2" memory-foam dining chair cushion for $13.00 which works better for my pain. I'm sure it probably would suit other purposes, but definitely not for my SI Joint pain! 1High quality, adjustable supportI use this in my car, as I spend 2 hours a day commuting and my car seat is less than supportive. I like that it supports not just your lower back, but the middle of your back as well. I'm short (5'3") so I would say it hits around my shoulder blades. The mini-pillow you see in the picture is great because it's adjustable with Velcro. Sometimes I move it to my lower back, sometimes I move it to between my shoulder blades, depending on where I feel I need more support. My only constructive criticism would be to add two straps which secure it around the seat--currently, there is one (albeit adjustable) elastic strap attached at the middle. While it is pretty sturdy, I think I would prefer two elastic straps to secure the top and bottom--this would prevent the moving around that happens if I bump the back support while climbing into my car. 4My only regret was not ordering it sooner !Weeks after a L4 L5 Back surgery for a herniated disc plus bone spurs that were pinching a nerve, I could not figure out why the extreme pain prior to the operation was gone ... but I had ongoing aches in my back.Then it dawned on me ... every time I sat in a chair or couch with a SOFT Back Cushion ... it would trigger aches and pain in my lower back,I did some research on good back support and posture . After many comparisons I ordered the Obus Forme Ergonomic low back support.Eureka ... this product has helped reduce my back discomfort to a bare minimum ... I now take it with me everywhere !!!Note: I have placed the small Lumbar pillow INSIDE the covering ( just open the top flap and slide it into your favorite spot ,safe and secure :) 5What a relief...This Backrest with Adjustable Lumbar Support, is so comfortable, that I don't have the normal Lumbar fatigue that I had before. Since my lumber disk surgery, sitting in chairs for any duration caused lower back lumbar pain, however, this Backrest totally alleviates all pressure points on my back. I have tried many others, but this one is just designed right, and fits everyone in my family with the Adjustable Lumbar Support. I am very happy I purchased this Backrest, and Amazon prime had the best price also. 5Excellent Lumbar SupportI have had this support device for about a week shy of two months. I am absolutely satisfied that this device is as good, or better than most any other like device on the market. I use it on a straight-back rocking chair. It is very durable and provides excellent lumbar support. Initially, I was concerned that the small strip of Velcro behind the support pad would not last and that the pad would start slipping. Wrong!!! Perhaps, if I had a need to frequently re-adjust the pad's position then, of course, the Velcro would be insufficient. But, I have not had such a need and the pad is firmly attached.Not only is the pad supportive, but the frame is very firm and is shaped to provide the bulk of the support that I need.I think it would be a mistake to frequently move this device from one location to another. Under such conditions, I can see where the durability of this device might be diminished. Instead, It might be a better idea to purchase another device. 5Not A Fan....Will Be ReturnedVery disappointed in this product. Under the black stretchy fabric is foam that lines the frame of back rest. It is only a few inches in diameter. The rest do the interior s made up of some kind of plastic filler such as bubble wrap or crinkle wrap. Since I can't see what's inside, I can't say for sure what is, but it has zero support. The only thing that provides support is the tight material that covers it. The lumbar pillow is cheaply made and it hard to align. Worst of all, the backrest makes a very annoying crinkling sound every time I move. For $70 I expected a quality memory foam back support. The only good thing I have to say about it is that it was very light weight and it did help me keep good posture while I sit. Sadly, it will be returned. I will update this review with my experience with seller. 1Great for short office workersThis item is perfect for the short, petite office worker who needs to be propelled forward in the chair in order to create a 90 degree angle for the knees bend as well as to provide lumbar support adjustable at every level. The lumbar pad is velcro and the entire backrest serves as a board for it to attach to so you can literally place it wherever you like (major plus, and a feature not always available with other brands). The strap is long enough to reach around my rather bulky office chair (another feature not satisfied by other brands). The entire backrest is tall enough to reach the top of my chair. It actually fits really perfectly for my chair, though I imagine that is partially due to luck.My back feels better already! (paired with a foot rest - crucial for short office workers whose feet dangle!) 5The Best Lumbar Support Made .......... Period!I can t say enough on how perfect this lumbar support is. I have used these for many years. It was time for a new one in my car and so that is why I purchased this one. Anyone who I know who has tried this one, has given up looking for anything else.Whether you use it in the car or at the kitchen dinette. Or in a recliner chair or even on the couch! It helps wherever your gonna sit and your back will say thank you! 5Excellent ProductI love these black backrests. They match my computer desk chair and my car seat. Very comfortable and force you to sit upright.The only point that I'd like to draw attention to is the fact that the description says the cover can be removed to be washed. The instructions that came with the backrest say the cover can never be put in a washing machine, but can be hand washed in cold water. Although the statement that the cover can be washed doesn't necessarily mean that it can be washed in a washing machine, it can normally be taken to mean that, leading to a disaster for those who don't read the instructions. 5Great back supportThis low back support works very well. In my work I have to sit much of the day and I was developing lower back, hip, and leg pain. By the end of the first day of my using this I was already noticing a significant difference and by the third day I wasn't experiencing any pain. Over time the discomfort still comes and goes, but it is not nearly as uncomfortable as it had been before using this back support. My posture has improved also. I had tried other lumbar supports before I tried this one and none of them worked very well for me. This has a moveable lumbar support pad so that it can be placed to provide support exactly where it is needed and it also has support for one's upper back, both of which I think make this back support work so well. A very high quality product. 5
