Fantastic quality. Worth every penny!!Fantastic purchase. Looks great and works great! I also bought the one with the toilet paper holder. Easy to push up out of the way and it stays put. Easy to pull down. It has added grip and padding where it touches down against the wall bracket. I'm in love with the quality. I highly recommend this product! 5Purchased "Moen 30-Inch Flip-Up Bathroom Grab Bar, Stainless (R8960FD) ...Purchased "Moen 30-Inch Flip-Up Bathroom Grab Bar, Stainless (R8960FD) " from Amazon In April of 2016. The hinge cracked an became very unstable.I never placed my full weight on the bar as I used it to steady myself, but even if I had, my 155 lb weight does not exceed the advertised 300 lb weight limit. 4Great an inexpensive grab bars!Exactly as described. I bought the stainless finish grab bar.Pros:-I did not use the clip provided that is supposed to hold it in the upright position, there was no need as it stays up on its own (but I'm happy they are provided).-The knurled finish of the bars does reduce the slipperiness compared to the smooth finish, also the finish isn't too rough (won't cause pain rubbing your skin on it or applying pressure on it).-Moving the bars up/down is smooth & easy.Cons:-If you use this for arm rests beside a toilet, and you lean way forward, you may find that these bars are a little short if mounted to the wall behind the toilet. For me, this wasn't a big enough issue to give it less then a 5/5 star rating, just warning readers to pre-measure before you purchase if you think this may be an issue. 5It worksThe grab bar was exactly as pictured and works like it should. Note that you can not install this safely on a regular studded wall. Using lag screws for one side and anchors for the other is probably not strong enough. You will need to take down a section of drywall and install additional bracing inside the wall to hold the screws on all 4 corners. But if you are willing to do that, or if you are doing a remodel anyway, this is a great product. One other note -- it's really hard to drive the lag screws into the studs even if you drill a pilot hole, so plan to have a socket wrench or impact driver on hand to torque the screws down the last few turns. 5Very good quality and Very sturdy!This is an excellent feature for my mother's small bathroom. Mom has arthritis in her knees and shoulders making it difficult to step into the shower. We placed the seat inside the shower added grab bars on the interior wall and also a hand held shower. After removing the doors from her shower stall, we realized she no longer had anything to hold onto for support. The area was so small and the bathroom door was next to the shower, so there was no place for a grab bar.This bar was placed on the shower stall wall where the original glass door had been. It not only gives support when stepping into/ out of the shower, it gives support to the open side of her shower chair. Because the room is so small, the toilet is close to the shower stall and this bar also adds support for one side of the toilet! It has given her the confidence to use the shower without assistance. (I attached a photo to show the placement.)This is the only place I found this bar in white. The local stores have a variety in silver but when I purchased it, Amazon had the best price. 5Perfect!We installed this in my elderly mother's bathroom where the toilet is between the sink and shower and there is no wall for a grab bar. It works AMAZING!!!! It is incredibly strong, sturdy and well built. There is even a clip on the wall for it to "lock" into.(We had to gut the bathroom- so inside the wall we put a 4x4 post attached to a stud and used concrete board for the wall. w mudded the all and painted it and then bolted the grab bar to the wall.) When pulled down and put into place, it comes down from the wall slowly. It is perfect. It is larger than I thought it would be, but it is the right size! I saw this grab bar on Pinterest when I was trying to find a solution to the "no wall by the toilet and need a grab bar" problem. I was pleasantly surprised to find it on Amazon!! Quick shipping and a great price for peace of mind and safety for my mom. See the pics of it installed. 5FINALLY!OK, my 96 year old mother has been struggling with diminished mobility for some time; she gets by with a walker but slowly and anxiously.We tried many solutions to the difficulties she had rising from the toilet: taller toilet, booster seat, supports that bolted to the toilet, bedside toilet, on and on. It was an expensive and unsatisfactory search. When we found this grab bar on-line which could be bolted to the wall at the back of the toilet on one side, along with the Moen LR2352DCH toilet paper holder-grab bar to the wall on the other side, the problem was solved. No longer were any attachments to the toilet important. Nothing to rock loose, no unsteadiness, no fear. Also, because this item flips up out of the way when not used and the other grab bar is disguised as a toilet paper holder, the bathroom doesn't have a hospital or nursing home vibe. Bolted into a stud, the flip-up grab bar is strong--as a test, my carpenter stood on it .So grateful to have this problem solved. 5Easy installationI have purchased 3 Moen Flip Up Grab Bars for my home. They are quick and easy to install and at 235 pounds I checked it with my full weight before allowing my wife to use it. I am amazed how many people use our bath room and do not notice the grab bars.She loves the flip up as it is out of the way while she transfers and pulls down easily.If you are remodeling a bathroom to a universal bath a good step that is not done by some contractors is to notch the studs at the minimum height of grab bars and then at 9 1/4 inches higher. The depth of the notch is 1 1/2 inches. the number of studs is about 4. Install a 2x10 in the notches. when the wall is finished you have a solid board to install the grab bar to and plenty of leeway on height. 5Beauty meets FunctionI have had to install several devices in the bathroom to assist my 92 year old mom with her toilette. This bar is the latest one. After she fell in the bathroom while trying in vain to grab the shower curtain, it became obvious to me that a safety hazard existed. I looked on line at several ADA websites to see what options were available that might help the situation. At last, I found this R8960FDW flip up safety rail...and for only $80 bucks! It went up like a dream, but I did have to buy a 1/2 inch nut driver/socket for my electric drill. The bathtub has a fiberglass enclosure and the screws grabbed it quite easily. It looks beautiful and does not detract from the overall look of the room, which is quite small/ I also installed a 12 in grab bar on the inside of the bathroom door and another just under the lip of the linen pantry. Having these device has helped immensely. She feels safer, has more privacy and is more confident to continue using the facility on her own. Now, Moen, if you just had a 24 inch model for the other wall (in white!)... 5Best purchase ever!This is one of the best purchases I think I have ever made from Amazon. I had been using an over-the-toilet commode in a small bathroom which was very difficult to navigate around. It made cleaning the bathroom and getting into the shower very difficult. I was always catching my foot on one of the legs. I really despised it. This thing is so sturdy the arm will stay down or up depending on what one wants. If my bathroom was bigger, I would have one on either side. I like the fact that they are so unobtrusive; my bathroom doesn t look like a handicapped bathroom any more. It s made of heavy steel. In fact, the day I had it installed the arm was down, and I stumbled in the bathroom and was able to grab the arm, and it saved me. My floor is ceramic tile, and I would surely have hit my head, and that would have done me in.The only caution is that the screws that came with it weren t really long or sturdy enough. The guy who installed it for me bought some special screws that have it anchored to the wall so well, I think an elephant could sit on it, and nothing would happen. I believe if it is installed correctly, one couldn t help but love it. 5
