MISERABLE - So uncomfortable = unwearable!I only wore these once, because they were so tight and UNCOMFORTABLE. I was MISERABLE for the last half of a 4-hour flight. They bunched around my ankles and I felt like I had rubber bands around my calf. At the end of a long travel day, I couldn't get them off fast enough!!!!!!!!!!! They cut off my circulation and I was miserable on a 4 hour flight. Because they were so uncomfortable, I was afraid to put them on again, because when traveling it isn't easy to do a quick change.I bought them because I get extreme swelling in my feet and ankles when I travel--sandals and shoes won't fit. I measured my ankles and calves carefully. The size chart said order a Large, but size UP if this the first time wearing compression socks. So I ordered an XL, so they were larger than recommended and should NOT have cut off the circulation.The nude/beige color was fine (other stockings I have received--the nude was an unnatural yellowish-camel-hair-coat color). The quality seemed fine, but I washed them and put them in the drawer. Sent a whooping $60.00 on the first pair from the doctor's office (which have turned out to be the least effective & have already started to lose their strength). Purchased some colorful ones and they are quite effective, but I needed some basic black and neutral colors. I choose these from tofly and am VERY happy with them! Besides the footed pairs, I got two pairs that were toe less. I like these also. They are holding their elasticity & strength very well. I just toss them in the laundry on warm and hang them to dry (and they dry very quickly). Since I've learned how to put them on and I'm wearing them around the clock (yes even to bed) the knots that were forming on my leg are getting smaller and less painful. I'm hoping by the scheduled surgery date there will be a significant improvement. I highly recommend this brand!! 5A good buy!The first time you put these on, allow plenty of time to roll them up. The second hint is just that: roll them up as much as possible from the top down before starting to ease them over your toes, then gradually up your leg. You may swear a little because this isn't easy--but it's worth it. They're supposed to be that tight! Once in place, they feel great. I suspect that the first effort is a break-in period and that it's easier subsequent times--or I'll be a little better at getting them on. I like the fact that my toes aren't covered and sandals look fine with them. The hose is nice and thick and compares to Jobst brand hose. Compression at the calf feels slightly higher than the ankles even though my measurements fit the range. They don't sag or roll under the bottom of my foot and the seam allowance stays flat. They do the job well and I'll be buying another pair. This was a good price for the quality and I was pleasantly surprised. 5
