So close to perfect! The Lily was a lot better for me than the Diva Cup, which was really stiff, too long, and constantly jabbed me with the stem- its suction was hard to break and hurt like it was trying to remove my cervix whenever I would take it out. The Lily is a lot softer and it's much better, but unfortunately it still isn't quite right for me. When I push it up as high as I can to prevent any leaks, I get a constant, dull cramp from it and pain relievers don't help. When I address this by inserting it a little lower, it constricts my urethra so I can't urinate at all, and it will leak more when in that position. Seriously, one time I removed the cup and as soon as I started pulling it down I had urine gushing out! No matter how I position it there is a serious problem. At least the stem doesn't poke me. I am so disappointed, guess I'll have to keep looking. And the sizing system for these cups is a joke, they assume you need the smaller one if you are under 30 AND never had kids, but I am over 40 with no kids.. so which is it? I ordered the smaller size. It's a shame, because this cup would be great if I could wear it without the cramping. It is very easy to fold and insert, and the spill rim is great. I have always had a very heavy flow so I accept that I will have to empty the cup several times during the day, and I will never be able to go "padless" because of that. I would love to be able to find a cup that works for me so I don't have to use the super thick, long, ultra overnight pads- during my heaviest days I can fill up one of those and start leaking within 2 hours- and that will continue for the first two days of my period. Ugh, I can't wait for menopause! I think I will try the Meluna or Lily Compact next- but I'm getting tired of spending money on cups that I can't use! 3Photo EXPLAINED!I'm in my 30's and never even heard about menstrual cups until a 20 year old was telling me all about them. So I thought to give menstrual cups a try and explain to you all about my photo. After hearing her great experiences with the Diva cup, I bought Lena (the dark pink bell shaped cup in the photo) and boy, this cup was not for me. It was hard to fold, even harder to insert and once I had it in, I was really uncomfortable where I couldn't bare it. I've read in most reviews to get acouple cups so you can find the one that fits best to your shape. As annoying Lena brand was for me, I did not want to continue on finding another cup.I stumbled on Intimina Lily cups when scrolling through "best menstrual cups" online. This brand has unique shaped cups (in the photo, the light pink on the left is the collapsible travel size and the light pink on the right is their original cup) I LOVE this brand! The silcone is so much softer, more easy to fold, haven't had any trouble inserting and I don't feel any discomfort at all.The only downfall for me, I do end up leaking as these cups move around after my cervix adjusts. In other reviews, I read you may leak due to the cup not opening properly inside or you don't have the right size. It is hard to determine what size you should get as most cups describes two different sizes - A or B. In the photo, I have all A cups because I have not given birth. I also think I leak due to the fact the first couple days are my heavy days and I have to take it out to drain around 4-5 hours (still better than changing a tampon every hour or so) on my lighter days, I don't leak at all.My review on menstrual cups themselves, they will take awhile to get used, too but once you get the hang of it, they're good products. I definitely recommend Intimina Lily Cups for beginners because overall, the silcone is much easier to handle and it feels like nothing since the silcone is more flexible and softer. 5Yuuki Rainbow cup vs Intimina Lily CupI ve been using a Yuuki Rainbow cup for about a year, so I will be comparing the two cups. I switched cups for two reasons. 1. My cervix thinks it needs to be as high as possible and the Yuuki Rainbow cup is now too short (and therefore getting painful to remove, as I have to pull it down A LOT in order to grab ahold of it) (No, I don t cut stems because I need all the length I can get). With the Intimina, it s always within reach, I just have to push down a little bit and I can break the seal and take it out. It s nice to not have to spend half a minute to just get the cup out! 5 seconds, BOOM, done! 2. The Yuuki is a harder medical grade silicone, so when it opens up it s like someone s punching you from the inside. The Intimina is a softer medical grade silicone, so it s not so traumatic when it opens up. The flip side of the coin is when you put the Intimina back in it can curl in on itself, so I have to guide it it and make sure it stays straight so it can open up properly. With the Yuuki cup, you just put it in, it doesn t fold up on itself at all. Sometimes Intimina takes a little longer to unfold too, but that maybe because I m use to a very abrupt feeling when a menstrual cup does unfold. I got both sizes (I ve never had children) as during my heaviest days I need the bigger cup. I do have problems with not changing it enough so it leaks, but I ve always done that from tampons to menstrual cups, so I wouldn t blame the cup for my laziness. This only happens on my heaviest days (flash flood days), so the rest of the time I can go 8-12 hours and not have to worry about it. Overall, I m very happy I changed over to this brand and would highly recommend for anyone who wants a softer menstrual cup for a very high cervix. 5The ChaliceOk so first the positive: the material is soft and supple. And I like the double lip, its a unique feature to the cups I hace looked at.That said this thing is massive. Its about as wide and long as three of my fingers, and this is the 'A' size. I am a healthy woman who enjoys a regular schedule of penetrative sex quite often. ....and still this thing is a bit much to try and roll up and stuff in. Its the full length, even with the first two ribs cut off like the helpful little booklet suggests it still pokes out. It is also wide enough that I cannot get it to open inside of me, I just bleed around it as I apparently lack the cavernous depths needed to deploy this beast. 3Love it. Don't knock it if YOU bought the wrong size or cup!!!Love it. I first tried the Diva cup and this is my second cup. I had a lot of leaking w/ Diva and realized it was cause I kept pushing the cup up too high. However, if the cup sat too low, it created a lot of pressure and made me feel crampy and the urge to pee and poop a lot.I quickly did research and learned that my cervix tends to sit high, even during my cycle. I saw that the Lily cup is one of the longer cups on the market. I liked the idea of a longer cup filling my vaginal canal and sitting more comfortably to me than a shorter cup. This cup is best suited for higher cervixes or people who would prefer a longer cup.The material of this cup is very nice. It's very smooth and soft. I find it to be comfortably pliable. The Diva Cup feels too rigid and was hard to slide in 'cause it kept unfolding midway. The Lily cup is a bit softer than the Diva, but not so soft it easily collapses. I really like that the Lily cup has an angle on one side, allowing you do one of their recommended folds easily. I also like that its unique shape doesn't cause too much of a suction sound when coming out.I haven't had any leaks with this cup *crosses fingers*, even overnight. I also didn't trim the stem. I highly recommend this cup if you have a higher cervix! The price is worth it and I got size A, because I've no kids and I felt that size would good for me. 5Good cup but my badI m fairly sure that the reason this cup didn t work well for me was mainly that I measured my cervix incorrectly. I didn t know at first that I have a tilted cervix, so when I inserted my finger straight in and felt nothing, I assumed I had a very high cervix. However, I was actually feeling for it in the wrong place and later discovered I have a lower cervix than I had thought. I also have fairly strong pelvic floor muscles, and this cup is very soft (i.e. not rigid), so it's a bit finicky to get open. EDIT: I should mention that although I had a lot of trouble with this cup before, I did eventually get it to work, despite it being just a tad too long to really be comfortable. Again, my troubles with this cup are due to the fact that it's meant for someone with a high cervix and I don't have a high cervix. However, even with my low-average height cervix, I am able to use it without leaks; it's simply not as comfortable, and since my cervix sits inside the cup when I use it, I don't get the full capacity.I encourage all potential customers to make sure they correctly measure the cervix before buying in order to ensure they are buying the correct cup. That said, the lily cup itself is a very high quality cup; in particular, the silicone is probably the softest, smoothest silicone I've ever felt (in a menstrual cup and otherwise). 5Don t purchase if you have strong pelvic musclesI have been using menstrual cups for a year now and after this cup, I know for sure that soft cups (and this is one of the SOFTEST) do not work for me and my strong pelvic muscles. No matter how hard I tried, I just COULD NOT get this thing to open. I tried everything people said, including moving my walls away from it for a bit of air, but nothing worked. I know sometimes I even have to do that for my firmer Lena cup original so my muscles must be super strong. With this cup, I was in the bathroom for 20 mins EACH TIME (because major leaks -.-) trying to open my vagina wide enough for this thing to open but it just collapsed every time. I wanted to try this because of a high cervix recommendation but no. I will gladly go back to my Lena cup original. I wanted to like this one so badly but no. I don t have time for leaks and not opening (EVEN WITH SUCTION what the heck?!). This was worse than the Lena cup sensitive and that s a super soft cup but at least it opened. 1Switched from diva cupIf you are looking for a period cup please look no further. This one is absolutely perfect. The base is stong so you can actually pull it out without trouble, it's curvy so it fits to your our body perfectly. It's slightly smaller then a diva cup and I find it fits and feels better. Some women complained of it creating too much of a suction inside of them? Never once had that problem nor do I think it would happen. Please if you need a period cup buy this one. In my photo I'm holding up the diva cup compared to the lily cup. You can clearly see the difference the lily cup fits to the female form while the diva cup is very industria. 5Don't give up. Do your research. May take a few tries to find the right one.I found my goldilocks cup. Only took a few tries. No leaks even on my heaviest day and it lasted the full 12 hours and a workout! Haven't tried yoga yet. But I got the larger size because I work in food and bev. And it's harder to take longer bathroom breaks on long busy days. But if your considering a cup some really great resources are "Put a Cup In It" on YouTube and they have a website with a quiz to help you find your goldilocks. Also "It's Just Kelli" (youtube blogger)she hasn't done a review of this cup but has done many others and she is just great at period product reviews. Also "Stashed Beauty" (youtube) has a a great review of the Lily cup which is why it was my next choice to try. And it worked! I have tried the flex discs. Which only worked 65% of the time without any leaks. And the femmycycle which worked 75% of the time. Both are great designs. Just did not work for my body type. 5Still getting used to it but so far so good!Have used a diva cup for the past few years and decided to try this. There is a higher side and a lower side and the higher side is supposed to be positioned toward your back inside, so still trying to get the hang of that, but so far seems to be more comfortable and gets a better seal for me than the diva does. It is a little harder to make sure it's open all the way once inside, as it almost seems like it auctions to itself. I got the size B as I've had two vaginal births and size seems fine. It seemed long and as someone who trimmed their diva cup's stem all the way down I thought I'd have an issue but surprisingly I didn't need to trim the stem at all. 4
