lubrication for zippersI use it to lubricate the main zipper on my dry 2 urban waterproof backpack. If you use it during a hot season, it will feel like running a melted glue stick over your zippers and it can get a little messy. However, I do prefer this solid stick over the liquid ones. 4It works. This product definitely works. However, if I need to lube up heavy duty zippers, I think next time I'll just buy some economy unscented chapstick next time. This product is really just a form of wax. It works and it's not too expensive but, chapstick will work too. 4This one is like a wax that just gets stuck in the zipper ...I used this on a waterproof backpack that came with a liquid kind of lubricant that worked well, but I eventually ran out of it. This one is like a wax that just gets stuck in the zipper teeth and zipper and doesn't make it any easier to zip/unzip. 1AMAZING for Wrangler ZippersThis is crazy easy to apply and it takes just two swipes to work it in. The zipper lube brings your crunchy zippers back to brand new zipping condition- like the day the top was made. It didn't correct my skipped tooth zipper, but I have to completely unzip the window to fix that. So it isn't magic, but it does work really well for rejuvenating old zippers. I haven't put anything on my zippers in 4-5 years, this made them back to brand new. 5Extremely messy to use; no effective difference in easing of zippers; waste of moneyI bought this to use on the zippers of a pair of Gore-tex rain boots. As you apply this product (it has the consistency of lip balm) to zippers, it gets on your hands; it is mushy and messy, even in its applicator form. It also gets on the boots, and leaves stains on the area surrounding the boots' zippers. It might be less messy if it was in a small tube. I would not advise using this on anything which you don't want stained. And, even with a couple of applications, I don't see a real difference in the ease of sliding the zippers up and down. A disappointment/waste of money, given the many positive reviews. 1Works on stubborn zippersThis product really works on stubborn zippers. I have a Barbour Bedale wax jacket with a double zipper that has always been stiff and difficult to work properly. Over the years I have tried different 'home remedies' such as graphite and candle wax but they made no real difference. I finally wised up and started looking on Amazon for a professional product and came across the Zip Tech. When it arrived I followed the directions and like magic, my old Barbour zipper worked again like new. 4These guys selling opened itemsSome guy in this shop figured that with internet sales, odd are they can unload distressed products. The package for this item was opened and mangled. If I saw this in a brick n mortar store I would have selected another one of same item. ( we all would ....like in Home Depot, you'd pass over the opened gizmo and select the un tamperedItem unless it was specifically marked down). So vendor either gets these rejects on the cheap , or is recycling returned items. At first I thought the products packaging was mangled in the mail cuz it was shipped in a bag vs box. (I don't mind what they put it in). I do mind if a vendor is unloading opened items. I looked long and close at top of product to see if the head of wax was actually used or not. I couldn't tell so I kept it and let it go.Product is fine but delivery of product was lame. 1but this works better.I bought the zipper lubricant for my motorcycle riding suit--that's a tough environment for any zipper. This works quite well; the zipper almost glides whereas I've normally had to stop and start the zipper as I ran the full length (foot to neck). Instead of applying it directly (as per the instructions), I use a stiff toothbrush. Otherwise, the diameter is really too large and you end up with lubricant on the fabric and not just on the zipper teeth. I've used liquid Teflon dry-lube before, but this works better. 5MehNo difference in ease of sliding the zipper ... felt about the same before applying the product. Did not lubricate the zipper much, if at all, for my taste. 3Fixed my '12 wrangler soft top zippers! It is like a mega chapstick for your zippers. I primarily used this on my '12 jeep wrangler soft top zippers. I had a couple of zippers that were stuck and actually caused a jam. I think this was due to rust or something. Anyways i thoroughly applied this on the zipper on all 3 sides and worked the zipper latch. All my soft top zippers are like brand new. The white chap stick paste is thick and it might bother some people. 5
