Customer Reviews

DO NOT BUY FITBIT PRODUCTS (POOR QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT)I really enjoy electronics, including the Fitbit App, but this scale is a very poor product. It will connect to your wireless network momentarily and then does not sync, which is shown on the display by "Connection Error". I performed every troubleshooting recommendation by Fitbit without any success. The Fitbit Forums are flooded with this same issue, and it appears to have been going on since Fall 2017. No resolution has been provided by Fitbit.I also had a Fitbit Ionic and really liked it. One afternoon, I checked the time and the screen was cracked. This seems to be another problem you can read about on the Fitbit Forums. The only offer by Fitbit was a replacement discounted by 25% off retail price. I will not be purchasing any other Fitbit products. Quality is definitely lacking, and customer support is not much better. Fitbit will be much better off selling their app on other products app stores and leaving the hardware market. Spend your money elsewhere! 1NO REGRETS! DO IT!This scale works great! I am really glad I purchased it despite the negative reviews. I had absolutely no problems setting this up. I recommend that you do ensure the fitbit app is completely updated before you attempt to setup the scale. After stepping on the scale you will begin to see little footprints appear on the screen, step off the scale at this time to see your weight and body fat percentage displayed. If you do not step off the scale you will get an error message and your weight will not display. I hope this review helps any that may have struggled to set up the device or who may hesitate to purchase. It really is an awesome fitness tool and I love how it automatically sends the info to my Fitbit app! I can know see when I turn body fat into lean muscle as my BF% decreases! 5Much easier to set up than aria 1I had the aria original and it was a PITA (pain in the ass) to set up. Every time the batteries ran out you had to restart it again. So with all the reviews I was a bit worried getting this. But I did- and the 2 is SO much better at setting up. It took 5 seconds and much cleaner without having to leave the Fitbit app at all.My one tip is this won t work if you WiFi password has any special characters in it. At least the original one wouldn t work with that so if you are having trouble try changing your WiFi password or setting up a second network for the scale to attach.Looks wise it s much the same as the original, but it shows cute icons instead of your name. When I weighted myself on both scales I weighed 1lb lighter on the new scale but 1% body fat more. Interesting :) I m not worried about accuracy as long g as the consistency is on point so doesn t matter much to me! 5Be prepared to spend an hour with customer support to setup Aria 2I bought an Aria scale a few years ago and getting it to connect to home network was a painful process and a fragile connection. Fast forward a few years - I saw Aria 2 and assumed that the setup issues has been solved. I like the simple industrial design of the scale, and really wanted to like the updated UX, and particularly wanted to like the new setup experience. Nope. Exactly the same UX issues as 4 years ago. While most other Wifi connected devices (Sonos, Echo, Google devices, Microsoft devices, Honeywell devices, etc) that have figured out how to quickly connect to Wifi, Fitbit setup experience is EXACTLY the same broken experience as 4 years ago, even the specific UI screens, even the hopelessly outdated setup guide and even the incorrect or incomplete documentation is the same. The setup experience is characterized by dead ends (where only way to proceed is to call customer support) and goofy recursive loops (links within a document or page takes you back to the same document or page that you are currently that will eventually take you to that same link that you started at.) The only way I found (once again) to complete setup was with about 45 minutes of help from a polite customer support person. She was friendly, helpful, knew info that was not documented (for example, the little button under the batter door) and was clearly used to dealing with irritated customers like me during the call, I tried my best to be kind and separate my frustration with bad product design and implementation from a good customer support. In Aria 2, there are more personalization icons --cat, whale(!), etc. which seems to be an odd prioritization of design effort when the setup experience is the part that needs work more urgently. I wonder why Fitbit does not fix the setup issue (which is not rocket science anymore) rather than spend all the money on customer support. 1It Doesn't Work. This is the 3rd replacement and still does not work with my Wifi. Setup goes ok with my iPhone 8 and Galaxy 8 via the app, but the Wifi connection screen hangs then fails - for each of the scales they have sent me. Dozens and Dozens of users on the FitBit Community Forums complain about the same thing. I'll keep my Aria 1 even though it is weak. 1UPDATE fitbit app before you try to connect!!!Great Product works well. When I first got this, I thought it was crazy to get a smart scale at this price. I live in a household with four people and when I bought this scale I was the only one with a fitbit tracker. Once I got into the whole fitbit dashboard and app, and after trying out a friend's Aria 1 - I decided to go ahead and get this scale to help me with some personal weight loss goals.IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FITBIT APP IS UPDATED!!!When I first took everything out of the box and was setting it up - the first headache was connecting to the blasted thing. I started remembering all the bad reviews and it seems like this is the most difficult part of setup. I have both a Samsung Galaxy S6 and an iPhone 6 plus both with the fitbit app. Out of the box it will try to connect via bluetooth and on both devices I would enter in the pin... and then kicked back out to the add device screen without the device being added. It took me about thirty minutes of me going back and forth between the iPhone and the Android App, questioning the very life decisions that lead me to throw down over a 100 frogskins just for something that won't connect before I came account a reddit post where people where having the same thing and updated their app... I laughed, frantic, hysterical laughter at the very thought that the app needed to be updated in order for this to work, I was only one version update behind - this gained me worried looks from the other members of my household, but behold... once I updated the app - the scale connected right away and I almost fell over in a bewildered state. After you get done with the set up, everything else just kinda falls into place - you can set up other users by sending them an invite from your fitbit dashboard - it will require them to make a fitbit account which they'll mumble about drinking the kool-aid and other things, but otherwise will keep trace of your weight and BMI like there's nothing to it.The first time I set up the lightest member of my household - it actually thought it was me and my app went insane telling me that I had lost near 60 pounds and giving me trophy after trophy which make me spit up my cluster-filled doughnut shake/smoothie because short of actually loosing a limb or two - that was not possible.Other than that I've had it about a month and a half and use it nearly every day and it keeps trace of my weight and Fat percentages. There are three other people that use it and as far as i can tell it's kept trace of all four of us just fine as well as the occasional person that wants to jump on it like it's a freak'n spring board - Susan...I know it was you... it's not a damn trampoline...One of the other people in my house found out that the scale seems to get quicker readings when used on the kitchen's linoleum floor rather than the bathroom's hard tile floor. It may take about 3 solid seconds longer to use in the bathroom than in the kitchen, which I don't mind - even if the household person will randomly leave the scale in the kitchen, they claim it takes better readings in the kitchen, but it's always been the same for me when I tried moving it around.I'm sure if it ever breaks I'll update this review and be extremely upset 5Product Support can get multiple users set up perfectly!!!There were a lot of horror stories on here about this product but I am just stubborn enough to try it myself because I really wanted one of these to help us on our weight loss journey. At first we had problems getting it to recognize both of us as individuals. I could link up but then he could not and vice versa. A key component is we were trying to do the start up link up on our phones. We got frustrated and thought all the reviews were true but then we saw on the Amazon site where we purchased it there was a phone number to call for Product Support. We called it and they informed us there was a glitch with the software and that people needed to use a laptop or notebook in order to complete the initial setup and have it work. I got out my notebook computer and he stayed on the line with us while we completed the intial set up. It has worked perfectly ever since. We have been able to use our phones for linking to it everyday and it recognizes both of us and works perfectly. So I would definitely recommend this product. 4Second chance and it paid off, LOVE this scaleI had your Fitbit Aria and could never get it to work right. Its in the box in the closet. I was nervous about ordering Aria 2, but finally did!! It was easy to set up. It has worked wonderfully and preformed just as you advertised. Thou there was one problem, almost every time I weighed myself I would get my weight plus a second weight of 14.1 to 14.3 pounds. I sat down to contact customer support to figure out what was going on. About that time the cat came and sat on the scale. He has been maintaining his weight just over 14 pounds and would like to request you add a pet mode. Love the scale and glad I decided to give it a chance. 5Looks nice, doesn t work as promisedI m incredibly disappointed in the scale. I ve been an avid Fitbit user for years and was really excited to get the scale. Unfortunately, it weighs differently every time you step on it, doesn t connect to the internet 50% of the time and is really slow after you ve weighed in to upload. I m training for a competition and work with a nutrition coach, so I thought this would save time by sending it to the app. In reality, it s be quick for me to go back to my old scale and type the numbers in myself. On a positive note, it s a very sharp looking scale, just not functional. I ll be returning the item :( 1The Aria was easy to set up and sync to FitbitThe product came securely packaged and in a timely manner. The Aria was easy to set up and sync to Fitbit. Weighing myself on a conventional scale gave an incomplete picture and required me to keep a paper journal. Knowing the percentage of fat I am carrying around was a true eye opener and a motivator beyond measure. My health goals will be easier to achieve because I can readily access my Fitbit dashboard on my android phone. This product has met my expectations. 5
