Customer Reviews

Great idea but not so great for rollingI purchased these with very high hopes, to substitute the BJJ rolling tape that ends up being very expensive after a while (one roll of tape in 10 days or so, ends up being a considerable expense over the years). However, after using them a few times, ended up shelving them on the locker. They slip/slide on the fingers (I purchased the correct size) to the point that the finger tips become covered with the gloves, which then hinders gripping. I am glad it worked from some other grapplers out there, but it still is not the right product for me.UPDATE: I decided to try something that ultimately worked. I made the two finger compartments about 2 centimeters shorter, by stitching them on the inside. This has made the compression stronger and has addressed the slippage problem. I still would recommend that if you are in the mid to low range of a particular size, you order a size smaller. Also, deserves mentioning that the CEO of the company (a BJJ blackbelt himself) contacted me to explain how they are trying to think of ways to address the slippage issue, as well as to offer a free pair of a smaller size. While I have not tried them yet, the solution above as well as the customer service received was enough to have a more positive outlook on the product. 3Pleasantly surprised how great they work.I ve been competing in BJJ for the last 8 years both gi and no gi. Before that I was a D1 college wrestler, as you can see my fingers are pretty messed up. Saw a guy at my academy wearing these gloves, but didn t think they were for me.Recently I ve been needing to tape my fingers together because they kept getting re-injured and weren t healing, it s been annoying with the tape and fingers still not healing well. I figured I d give these a shot.I ve been training with Grappz for a bit now. Great support on my injured fingers, the compression feels good around my swollen knuckles. My fingers are not getting re-injured and they re finally able to heal while training hard 4-5 days a week. The quality seems to hold up and they re pretty convenient to use.Every once in a while you have to re-adjust them around your fingers like a knee brace but other than that they re awesome and protect my fingers well. Wish I had these since college, pleasantly surprised and suggest for all Grapplers with jacked up fingers. 5Very useful for BJJIm a blackbelt in BJJ and im not one of those guys who tapes his fingers all the time, but over the years my fingers have gotten more banged up. Probably have some form of arthritis and definitely weaker knuckles from multiple finger jams, so now I tape them when I have to, but dont really like rolling with tape. I learned about these from a training partner and got a pair. Been using them the past month and think they are really good for the sport. My fingers are protected as if they are taped but wearing these gloves dont bother me or slip off. Fingers feel good so far, been training about 4 days a week and my latest finger jam has been protected and is healing. They dont impede any on my grips or any techniques. Once the jammed finger is healed, ill probably keep wearing them just in case. 5Give them a try!Great customer service! I started training BJJ in my late 30s and my hands plus grips have taken a beating. Range of opening my grips are little bit painful to bad. I tried them on this week, alternating from tape to gloves to test it out and next day the hand with the grappz felt the best. Less pain on my hand vs the tape up one. People will ask what's up with the glove if your okay, its noticeable but useful. Expensive finger tape would fall off anyways after a heavy roll and the grappz feel really natural to the point you can't tell you have them one 5Go a size up if you already have arthritic BJJ fingersEdited:I have been training BJJ since the mid-90s and collar sleeve spider / de la riva guard has been my go to guard for at least half that time. My fingers have taken a beating over the many years and my hand does not look normal. That said, the mediums were too loose on the wrist and too tight on the fingers.Edit 2:The owner of the product sent me a larger size without me even asking which was a nice gesture. The size large works better on fingers but still way loose on the wrist.Obviously it's challenging to get the perfect fit for this type of product but I appreciated the owner's effort to make things right. My recommendations would be to add padding to the top of the fingers to protect against impact esp for injured fingers. 5They are better than I anticipated! They work better than I anticipated! I have injured my knuckles from Jiu Jitsu and have been taping my fingers, which helps, but it reduces my range of motion. I thought I would try these gloves just as an alternative. They keep my fingers compressed together and I have full range of motion! My knuckles don t hurt as much after training compared to when i tape my fingers.ONE LITTLE REQUEST THOUGH, if it is possible, I would suggest that they add a small amount of some type of sticky material on the INSIDE of the fingers to give a little more adhesion. At times I find myself pulling the finger sleeves down a little to readjust them. It s not bad at all and they don t slip off , they just move a little, which is obvious due to the grappling, but a little extra help might make a difference. Even so, I am loving them just the same.By the way, I have been using them for about 3 weeks now and have washed them after every practice and no loss of compression! 5Really clever product! Has not lose compression after 3 weeks of use.Really clever product! I waited a few weeks before leaving this review to make sure the gloves didn't stretch out and lose their compression. Going on week three of using them 4-5 days a week and the compression is still all there. I think if they were going to stretch out they would have by now.I'm cursed with arthritic fingers at 23, so I'm a frequent consumer of tape. I also have hairy knuckles so taking tape off after training sucks. I use them for training BJJ and also bouldering / rock climbing. They're perfect for BJJ / grappling as they don't adversely affect my grips, but not always ideal for rock climbing. 5Uncomfortable at first, but great once you get used to it, great for basketballIt was incredible. Not only did it prevent me from jamming my fingers, which is a common basketball injury, it also acted like a cast for broken fingers and wrists. Not only did it do all this, but it also helped to increase my shot accuracy and my handles skill level. It looks really cool and has given me no trouble. Any problems you may have will only be your fault, and not the fault of the product, as you can damage it with bad care, and picking the wrong size could cause problems as well. Make sure to pick the right size, and enjoy. Perfect product, best thing in the world! 5Great finger supportReview- These offer great finger support. The sleeves go over most of your finger, leaving just the tips but it compresses one finger to your adjacent finger. This is what gives me the splint/support I need when training but I have the full dexterity I need. The fabric is tight but still flexible.I didn t think I would get the strength or support of buddy taping with these but surprisingly they do, I think the amount of surface area they cover on the finger compared to tape is what makes the support better. I don t have any complaints as of yet. They re pretty durable, well made, and convenient. Had to figure out how to get them on correctly at first because they did seem small, but once I trained with them for a bit, they were great. Five stars for sure. 5The Good: They are very well madeI have been having pain in my fingers after Jiu Jitsu training and I have been trying various tapes and braces and gave these a shot to see how they would do. These didn't seem to work as advertised, I had significantly more finger pain after using these than when I use tape. The Good: They are very well made, the material seems durable, they are comfortable and didn't seem to slip off or move. The Bad: The problem is that they don't limit the range of motion of the finger joints to prevent strain. Using tape immobilizes the joint to prevent strain on the tendons, which is what prevents finger pain. 2
