Customer Reviews

Seems to be helpfulI have just started using this splint. I must say that after about the first few nights, I could walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night without wanting to scream in pain. YAY! THANK YOU!! I have edema in my leg,and I am large, but the medium fits with adequate roominess. I read that it was helpful to cross the lower 2 straps for added support for keeping the heel in place, and I do that because my foot likes to push against the splint. I also use the wedge, and my foot tries hard to fight this positioning, but I guess that is how it is supposed to work. I can not sleep with this splint on- so I wear it while relaxing/working on the computer(4-6 hour stretch) , right up until I want to fall asleep. It has helped my pain, and I do recommend it. I only give it 4 stars because it is uncomfortable to try to wear it during sleep. 4Ahhh...finally no pain!I slip these on before bed and my feet instantly can feel the ache at the bottom of my feet just ease up, so comforting! I use one on each foot and they help with my plantar fasciitis, heel pain, and fallen arches. I ve worn at least one to bed for over a year now and you do get used to it being on. I don t have such pain in the am taking those first few steps, so nice!! 5Pain relief achievedI have only had these a little over a week but I can really tell the difference already. I suffer from plantars in both feet and have honestly had chronic pain from this for years. No matter what kind of pain medication I take I can count on my feet always hurting. But I can feel these adjusting my plantars and this is the first time in years I have not had constant foot pain. I love this product and firmly believe it will continue to alleviate my problem. I do not wear them to bed as they are very bulky but I do wear them while relaxing on the couch and at my desk. I would recommend this to anyone truly suffering from plantars as the design clearly was created to adjust the specific needs of this condition. 5Worked so well, I bought two!I ve suffered from plantar fasciitis in both of my feet for the past 6 months. Through staying off my feet and physical therapy, it is getting better, but it was still painful to walk when I get up in the morning. After wearing these to bed (the first one worked so well, I bought another one for my other foot), I can walk to the bathroom in the morning without being slowed down by the pain. I take them off when I first wake up, and for a while I can walk like a normal person again! But I still have to wear them nightly or anytime I take a nap.I only gave them 4 stars, instead of 5, because of how bulky they are and how inconvenient they are to have to take off and put back on if I have to pee in the middle of the night. It is also difficult to put the one on my right foot on, as the buckles are on the outside of my body and my leg does not bend well that way when I am trying to reach the snaps/buckles. 4A MUST BUY for people with plantars fasciitis or heel pain.If you just found out you have plantars or achilles tendonitis, then read this review. I am pretty active and run on a treadmill in the mornings. Then, I started to have pain in the bottom of my feet and in my heel - especially when I got out of bed in the morning. I kept exercising and the pain got pretty bad. It was to the point where I would have to put my feet in a bucket of ice after coaching and participating in my sons baseball practices. I researched and tried the following: stretching, icing, shoe inserts, roller bar from fleet feet, rolling foam, running my feet over a golf ball to stretch it. And advil. Lots of advil. That other stuff helped, but this boot really made the biggest difference and eventually cured it. Knowing what I know now, I would do all of those except for the foam roller. Just too big a pain for me to do. You need to be vigilant about it and rest the injury as much as possible. I did wear this at night a couple of times when it was really bad, but they are bulky so I mostly wore them in the morning when I drank my coffee before work and at night when I watched some tv at the end of the day.My 11 year old is active in football, rugby and just about every other sport. About two weeks ago, he started to complain about heel pain. Research tells me he probably has Sever's or achilles tendonitis. I immediately ordered him two boots of his own (men's small) and he started wearing them. After that and no sports for two week, there has been a dramatic improvement. He has also been icing. Some have said that the boot doesn't force the heel all the way down and I see some of that, but not to the point where it doesn't work. I just adjusted and tightened them for a better fit. Maybe others got the wrong size.Don't ignore the symptoms and begin treatment as soon as possible. Even though my pain has almost completely gone away, I still use the boots to prevent it from returning. 5good productAppears well made and is easy to adjust and take on and off. I don't wear it in bed as it (or any PF type fixture) is awkward. Has helped my PF by wearing it during the day anytime I am sitting for awhile. I just readjust the ankle strap and place a cold pak in heel area when time to ice my heel. No aggravation trying to keep cold pak in place that way. Remember thick or double socks or folded wash cloth between skin and cold pak. 5Takes getting used toShoe size: 6 - 61/2Splint size: SmallI'm on my feet a lot as an ER nurse and have been suffering with PF for several months but it has gotten so bad in the last 4 months, that I thought about going on leave. The pain in the morning is truly unbearable, and the pain throughout the day has now also become crippling, so I really need to get this foot back in order.I've spent apprx $600+ on other remedies (Joya sneakers, Klog shoes, ortho boot, cortisone shots, heel pads, custom fit orthotics, PF socks, ice packs/rolls etc). I don't have any bone spurs, so I know my pain is absolutely a "tight muscle" issue. Now for this splint: This does work, no doubt about it, but it takes some getting used to. I still have not been able to keep it on all night....but I'm getting there.1st: The "across the foot straps" bothered the top of my foot, so I now wear a soft sock with the splint.2nd: I make the "side pull straps" as tight as I can tolerate, pulling my toes way up and then have to loosen it after about 1 hr. due to comfort issues.3rd: I no longer keep my blanket tucked, because the splint gets tangled in it when I turn in the night. So I keep the lower portion of my legs uncovered now. This has made a big difference for me.4th: I sleep with a flat pillow between my knees, this also made a big difference with comfort.Yes, my toes become numb...I don't care.Yes, my heel may hurt a bit when I'm in the splint...so I just make adjustments and then decrease/increase the intensity throughout. I usually remove it during the night. First few days, wore it for about 1-2 hrs, I'm now about 4 hrs into the night, but if wake again, I put it back on.During the day, I wear it now WHENEVER i can; watching TV, computer time, eating dinner, etc... Even if its only for 15 min.Now on my 2nd week: There is a definite improvement...I can walk in the morning. My work days is what sets me back.4 stars instead of 5: I wish there was a non-velcro tab on the end of each velcro strap, especially the side straps, this would make it easier to adjust in the night. It takes a bit of time to pull those velcro side-pull straps apart. 4It's a little large but keeps my foot flexed much better then the other oneI tried the other splint first that goes on top of your foot and found that it did not keep my foot flexed enough. I returned it and got this one instead. I wear an 8.5-9 women's and bought the medium sized splint. It's a little large but keeps my foot flexed much better then the other one. It's very comfortable too. 5Crossing straps keeps heel from slippingGoing into my third night with this boot. So far so good. Less painful in the morning and I can make it about half way through my work day without a full stretch session. I have advice for those finding that your heal won't stay seated all the way back, simply criss cross the bottom two straps by clicking the second strap where you would normally click the first strap, and vice versa. I thought I might have to return it because my heal would slip around, but the cross straps have worked wonders. Good boot, will update in a month or so. 5I can't believe it worked. It actually WORKED. I finally went to my doctor about my plantar fasciitis, which I should have done first. I've tried new (very expensive) shoes - complete with metal plates and arch supports, creams, gels, therapies, you name it. Other than that wooden foot roller thing I kept under my desk, this was the ONLY thing that brought relief. My doctor apparently had the same issue and told me about this boot. It only took 2 nights of sleeping uncomfortably (because let's just face it - it's a bulky, plastic boot) to "retrain" my foot. My doctor says every now and then he has to use it again (like every 6 mos. or so), but that's it! I'm elated! I'm finally pain free after 2 years and hundreds of dollars of dealing with plantar fasciitis. 5
