Didn't workThis ended up being a big disappointment. With the new bed frames these days having deep frames that the mattress fits down into this won't work without damaging it. If you have a simple metal frame it should work fine. 2You will need a vise-grip wrench and a pair of needle nosed pliers for assembly!Make sure you have tools handy to assemble because the "wrench" packed with this product is useless. I bought this for husband when he is released from rehab. The bolt goes through the hole and you attach a washer and a locknut to the other side. The bolt spun as I tried to tighten the locknut. I had to use a vise-grip to hold the bolt still and needle-nosed pliers to tighten the locknut. I was frustrated and in pain by the time I got it assembled. I will have to call a handy-man next time. 2Great bedside railing!This has been a Godsend for my elderly mother who has a very hard time getting out of bed. It doesn't get in the way of her legs and helps her to sit up in bed. It is very sturdy and has all the pockets for her tissues, remote, and whatever she needs close by. I would highly recommend! 5Replace carriage bolts with different typeThis rail is very handy, but I can't give it 5 stars because of the 4 carriage bolts included to assemble it. The included wrench was of no help. The bolt head should not be smooth but have a Philips or plain screw head so it can be held fast while the bolts are wrenched tight. Unnecessary burden to assemble when different bolts should have been included. 4straight-top railing better than shorter curved onesThis railing works quite well and the pockets are really helpful. I prefer this straight-top railing to the typically curved ones that are offered. It means more railing is available to grab when it's dark in the room. I keep my Bose headphones in one pocket and the cord to the headphones in another. That way I can listen to a book on Audible if I can't quite fall asleep. It is very sturdy. There is no fear of it falling out or bending. It's rock-solid and adds a lot of security. 5The pocket tore on the bottom within a few days. Has 4 so I didn't return it.Wish it was longerIt's a good product not easy for a very elderly or weak person to put together you would need a little help. We need someone to put it together and then adjust it with the straps said it safe I wish it was about 6 in longer and one of the bottom of the pocket store it does have four pockets so other than that it's it's wonderful I would have given it 5 Stars had it been easy for old person to put together & had pocket not torn. it still has 3 Pockets left so fine. If I were to purchase another one it would have to be a bit longer & easier to put together so if they could do that it would have 5 stars. 4Side Assist.Service at its best... I have used on both sides of my queen mechanical bed for the reasons of access and of course comfort when moving within the bed. I do like the assist. I don't care for the pockets since these have very little wiggle room to hold items and things fall within the pockets. It often becomes a search and find the item held and this is cumbersome. I have attached a hook system to hold the remote for the television and the lights and this does make it easier to locate. The bed remote lies on the mattress since it is easier to find when needed. Overall though for the money you cannot go wrong with the handrail for support. The under the mattress straps do hold the rails securely. I did buy two. 5Perfect size safety railThis rail is a perfect size. It is not too long so a person doesn't feel "trapped" in bed nor does he have to try to scoot down to near the foot of the bed just to sit up. It is sturdy enough to use to aid in standing up too. The side pockets are handy for holding a book, glasses, cell phone, etc. 5Functional and attractive.I bought this product since a friend had to move in to recover from surgery. It was just right. It was a great assist in helping her sit up without raise and lower a bed rail and nothing juts out that a person could bang into. Once she got stronger. it gave her the freedom to work on getting up and sitting down by herself. The handy little pockets also held the TV remote and a few of her personal items without issue. 5This product works exactly as I had hoped. We ...This product works exactly as I had hoped. We have an adjustable bed which prohibits the use of a standard guard rail. This one fits perfectly between the creases where the foot and the head of the bed rises. The instructions say to secure this around the bed frame, which does not work on the adjustable bed. We secured it by wrapping the straps around the mattress, and it is solid as a rock. It functions as a rail preventing the occupant from falling out of bed and as a secure aid for getting in and out of bed. The pockets on both sides are an added bonus aiding the occupant. 5
